The win is all that matters, but as a secondary bonus we picked it back up when it looked back. Very good result in that respect. Just imagine all the United fans lubing up at 3-3, just to be denied when Mo got his second...

I'll take a dull single goal victory over Leicester on Saturday, but hoping we're more like we were 1st half than 2nd.

Made a pig’s ear of what should have been a pretty straightforward victory after taking a 3-0 lead. Away game in Salzburg looking a lot tougher than might have been expected when the draw was made.

Agree with Cheeky, that still getting the win is a boon, and shows again the improvement in this side’s mentality the last few seasons. That’s all Klopp, the level of belief he’s instilled is just as important as the players we’ve bought, maybe even more so.

Leicester will no doubt fancy getting a result on Saturday, but Rodgers can overthink things; hopefully he’s in two minds between having a go and staying compact to nick something.

Last night's result came at the perfect time for us. That coupled with the draw vs Leicester last season at Anfield should see us in the best shape possible for whatever challenge they throw at us. We know we cannot be complacent, we aren't invincible and Leicester have players that can hurt us.

It is the sort of game we should thrive on and a good result here could see us good for the tough run we have coming up.

However, blow this game and we may start to see other results go against us in that same run.

Somehow get to City with a 5 point gap still and the pressure on them is huge.

I think we got too comfartable when we went 3-0 up and just took our foot off the pedal, some great goals though.

We never really had a hope of keeping that lead after this amazing AmeriDeutsch team talk.

“Too much respect for the opposition” “Are they good? Yes they’re good”. And lots of fucking.

That was superb, easily the better team throughout but got caught out by some excellent play by Leicester. Should have been a couple in front by then though, thank the lord Milner was playing.

The predictability of ABLs, Twitter full of people claiming it wasn't a penalty, and how Liverpool are lucky. Lucky? On another day we'd have been out of sight, everything was shot straight at Schmeichel all game. Leicester's wrestling and choking was largely ignored by the ref, as well.

Salah looks out of sorts, think he needs some time on the bench. Hoping he's not injured, but at least there's a built-in excuse ready.

He scored two on Wednesday. He has been a bit up and down this season but I think it'd be madness to bench him.

Milner on being asked about the handbags at the end:

”I didn’t see it” followed by a massive grin.

Fucking hell... it can (and likely will) go wrong at some point. But we are living rent free in their heads right now.

Soak this in for a bit.

They came back from 7 points behind last season and I expect United to get a result against us after the international break just because it will be the only game they turn up for this season before Ole is sacked but it's going to be fun while it lasts.

Last season is last season. We have hopefully learned lessons and push on from here. We know now, we cannot think it is done. We have to aim for 98+ points and better what we did.

City can get 106 points if they go 100% to the end of the season. So in theory, them beating the 98 they got last season, is looking a lot more difficult already.

City have only played Spurs from the “top 6” I believe so far? Unfortunately they usually seem to beat the top 6 (who apart from us are fucking shit at the moment). We really need to beat them this season, it’d give us a huge advantage.

1 match at a time. 1 new target after we reach each old one. The Man U match will be big for them, but could be immense for us if we just approach it correctly. And Spurs are in freefall right now, so I'm hoping on 10 straight wins to start the season, and a new record for consecutive wins. Each time we win, the pressure on City to not lose keeps on growing, and right now they don't seem able to cope.

Let's all just keep on doing whatever we're doing, but allow ourselves to enjoy this. Every team in the country would swap placed with us right now, and we've not really played especially well yet this season!

The ride is always the best bit. Last season was such fun and we and City pushed each other to their limits, with neither team blinking. We have so far kept on pushing and they have blinked first. We just need to do as @CheekyLee says and get those results and put more and more pressure on them.

They NEED to be within touching distance by January, when they can bring in reinforcements. The pressure could be crippling for them. Or they could thrive on it with the 2 week break coming up.
