We've just been managing this game and saving our legs from about the 4th minute. Not a spectacle at all really. Looks like we have at least 3 more gears we could go through. But we need to up it for final few minute now Sheffield United are giving it a go.

Jake Humphrey, on BT Sport, reckons if Liverpool win their next league match it'll be the best start to a top flight season. Ever.

It's against Spurs though and I fancy Mourinho will park a few buses.

Of course Mourinho will spoil the run. It's what he does.

We just need to make sure that we step it up after any potential blip. Because there is no way we will go 37-1-0 by the end of the season*. We will drop some points, just make sure we react well when we do.

*If we do I will get Bill Kenwright tattooed on my calf.

I'll travel to you to make sure you do too.

Gomez looked shaky earlier in the season, he was obviously returning from injury though so he wasn't in the kind of form that saw him become first choice at the beginning of last season.

He has been excellent since his chance presented itself with both Matip and Lovren injured. Hopefully he can stay fit.

Ancelotti’s had success against Liverpool more than a few times but on those occasions he was managing good teams :coffee:

Nah, the Blueshite are alright. Will be interesting what team gets put out with there being almost a week before the Tottenham game.

Everton need this too much. We've rested tons of players. Can't see anything other than Everton winning here.

On the plus side.. Minamino starts :omg:

I mean, over 20 years since Everton last won at Anfield. We are playing kids (with some supervision in Milner, Gomez, Origi), giving a debut to Minamino and starting Lallana. They have a full strength side, with Ancelotti in charge. They have to end that run today.

3-1 to Everton

I'm surprised Klopp didn't put Kelleher in goal. Adrian has probably played more game already than he ever expected to when he signed and Kelleher has conceded 10 in his last two appearances. Brewster on the bench probably means the rumours about him going out on loan, in this transfer window are true.

Adrian has done more in 26 minutes of this match than Mignolet did in his entire career. The difference an actual keeper makes! Saying that, though, he's hardly keeping us in it, because we've had far more of the ball. It's a bit like the Villa game, except they're not scoring with every shot as Villa did that night. Entertaining match, and a couple of these kids look pretty good.
