Probably 2 correct decisions, even if they are literally splitting hairs for these offside calls. My problem is how long each call is taking to make, we could all tell in one glance that the first wasn't handball, and for the second one they've spent 3 minutes doodling on a still image to decide he's offside, with a very real chance that they've still got it wrong.

Even with 5 minutes added time, how much actual football have we watched since the 40th minute?

I love this whole liVARpool narrative, like that's the only reason we're top and not that we're just class. It's fucking hilarious. Last year it was "VAR will stop all Liverpool cheating and they'll finish outside the top 4", and now it's "Liverpool and the PL are corrupt"

I guess it was Liverpools and VARs fault City lost a 2-0 lead to Wolves the other night, or lost 1-2 to United at home, or lost to bottom of the league Norwich?

People really are rattled aren't they.

I think people only remember the ridiculous offside Milner got away with last year which would definitely have been prevented by VAR and forgotten Kompany almost breaking Salah's ankle and getting only a yellow as how Liverpool would be punished by VAR. I don't know how you fix it for offside unless they start filming the games with the cameras the Slo-Mo guys use.

I remember watching that 2010 match on telly. Was it Torres’ last game for us? Or almost last? He looked a shadow of himself at the time. Never really got back to top form either...

... anyway, good to win today although I do feel for Wolves given the circumstances. Very easy to see why they are fighting for a Champions League spot - they’re seriously good.

Tough one coming up again with Shef Utd. Hopefully we can just keep rolling onwards picking up those wins. Still won’t believe we are going to win it until it’s mathematically done.

I don't like to see the club taking the quick option and buying an established CB at the expense of developing their own players. If Rodgers feels that Kelly, Wisdom and Coates are able to step it up next season then i'm behind him.

In reply to a previous post I hope the club never sells Shelvey, he'll be a vital player for us one day

I think it’s more about Wolves than it’s about Liverpool, VAR has been a bit harsh on them in the last couple of matches and overall.  Wolves pretty much beat City despite it.

I guess it can can be argued that VAR hasn’t really cost Liverpool many points.  VAR did cost us two points at Old Trafford, allowing their goal to stand despite the foul on Origi and than disallowing Mane’s.

Generally though, even when it ruled goals offside because of Firmino’s armpit or Mane’s butt cheek, we still won.  So other fans will only remember games like yesterday, when it seems like Liverpool benefited.

To be fair, Shelvey always seemed - maybe even still seems - to have all the raw materials to be the next Gerrard, sadly hampered by being an absolute bellend.

He had too much of the raw materials.

I hope the ABLs keep going with the LiVARpool narrative. The longer nobody accepts that we're way ahead of where they are, the longer it will take everyone else to counter us. There has been next to no luck involved in our charge, and if managers want to believe that referees are costing them rather than their own players, that's absolutely fine by me!

The only thing that will be better than winning the lot will be how much piss gets boiled when we lift the trophy.
