This might be the first time Firmino has completed 90 minutes if he stays on, right?

How many times has Mignolet just hoofed the ball into touch? I swear I've seen him do it at least 50 times. Aside from all the other instances where he gives possession away.

His distribution is the worst I've ever seen from a goalkeeper. To so consistently kick it out of play from a goal kick is awful.

Much, much better performance tonight, even more so considering the injury woes but we still lack a commanding presence up front. Too many passes and not enough movement or, all too often, support in the box. With Arsenal and Man Utd after the cup game on Friday, I wonder what team we'll have actually fit to play?

Bloody good game that was, and I thought especially in the first half we looked excellent. Creative, full of ideas, we were all over them, and then Coutinho gets injured. I was expecting it to go wrong then but Ibe came on and put in a good display, took his goal well too.

2nd half it was much closer but we still had our chances to finish them off and really should have taken them. We did appear to be getting the shit kicked out of us though, I thought the ref was very lenient.

Great result, very happy to be going into the 2nd leg a goal up.

Cheer up everyone!

Hopefully we can recall some of our loan players to cover for our increasing injury list.

Super Mario to come back and play in defense. All he needs to do is shoot towards the goal in a Liverpool shirt and it will never go in ;)

Missed the game due to working late. Pleased with the result, but a one goal advantage doesn't fill me with confidence going into the second leg. Hell, a 3 goal advantage still wouldn't.

Shame about the injuries.

Think he played the full 90 against Leicester and/or Sunderland

Who do we have worth calling back?

Balotelli is injured.

Wisdom is injuted

Ilori hasn't played

Would like Markovic back but wasn't there something mentioned about it not being possible to bring him back early?

There's also Luis Alberto, but he just seems to be the new Danny Pacheco.

We paid nearly £7m for him and he hasn't played a game yet in the Premier League. He was meant to be one of the brightest stars for the future. They say he is great on the ball and very cultured, but lacks the aggression and reactions that people think you need for the Premier League.

Wisdom is another one we should get back. He looked like was going to turn into a top player for us at one point. Then we started loaning him out, but has stagnated this season at Norwich with not being first choice, or due to injury.

Subotic on loan and trying to get Matip now has been talked about. Worst case, we have to start with Lucas or Can, or even both if Kolo struggles too. Either way, it's not great with so many games coming up this month, including Arsenal, United and the 2nd leg with Stoke. It's crazy the amount of injuries we are picking up.

Isn't he also coming back from a hamstring injury? You don't even have to be playing at Liverpool to get it.

It's not really, is it? You've got Klopp as manager. That's what he does.

I think that might be more relevant over a full season when the players are all playing the fast pressing style. I don't think he's had enough time to get the players playing the way he wants (nor even having the right players to do that in the first place).

Right now, we've just been very unlucky.

Personally I think within a few weeks of moving to a completely new training regime is probably the time to judge whether it is having an effect.

It's feasible people talking quite loudly about Klopp's arrival probably put Sturridge out for the rest of the season, and obviously the ones that happened just as his plane landed were unfortunate coincidences. It doesn't seem unreasonable to think a manager famous for getting his players injured might be to blame for his players being injured.

Souness on Sky Sports last night was suggesting its Klopps training that's causing all the hamstring injuries.

I wasn't sure whether he thought it was the actual training that is the problem or the fact that the players had to change their training in the middle of the season that is causing the injuries.
