Rather scrambled a point in the end, but 1 out of 6 against Newcastle and West Brom is terrible, really, there's no hiding from that if we have ambitions to get a top-4 slot. Obviously the defending was dreadful on set-pieces, that was a big issue last season and then seemed to be a bit better so far in this one but it went awry again today.

Pockets - I disagree anyway, but your point about Gerrard might have some merit if this only happened in the last couple of games, but we've played like today more than we've played well under this season (under Klopp or Rodgers).

28 attempts against their 4 and it still needed up a draw.

How many of those 28 did Myhill actually have to save, though (rather than being straight at him)? I can't think of any (though my stream was poor and kept missing bits.)

I think Benteke was disappointing, and Mignolet's mistake was typically dire. But we were better than against Newcastle, which isn't saying much. But the same old thing again...corners. I thought we'd sorted them out. It's another missed opportunity.

Really liked the German style thanks the players gave the fans in the Kop at the end. We need that kind of thing.

We were probably worse against Sion than we were at Newcastle, though. The performances have been all over the place.

As for the thanks to the fans at the end though with all the team holding hands, not sure we quite need that to 'celebrate' a fortunate snatching of a point (even though on the balance of play you'd say that was a fair result).

It was to thank the fans for all staying, supporting and believing until the final whistle. Not really a celebration. It's something I'd like to see every game. It's great when you see it in Germany. Strengthening Shankly's holy trinity of manager, players and fans.

German teams do that no matter what the result. Benteke didn't look that enthusiastic doing it and I thought Origi looked more dangerous in his cameo appearance that Benteke did all game.

If we'd beaten Newcastle and West Brom we'd just be goal difference away from the top four. That's the sickening thing. The opportunities are really there but we just never take them.

Imagine that was the end of the season, beat Newcastle and WBA to get in the CL and that happens. It's become far too typical of us and there's been a culture of acceptance that hopefully Klopp will eventually change.

Why can't we play City and Chelsea every week eh?

It looked awful but he did only lead with 1 foot, got the ball and went through. That's momentum into a challenge.

In many cases, ive seen free kicks and cards given for these types of challenges . Slow mo shows once he gets the ball his foot comes up high onto Lovrens knee, not saying on purpose but he's out of control

No way.

Milner had wound him up seconds before and he decided to fly in 'hard'. He's exactly that type of player. It was high and reckless. He knew what he was doing.

Should have been off.

I've just watched it over again. Yes it's a hard tackle but there's nowt wrong with that. You're just angry your man received the damage.

Look at it again, Lovren backs out of a 50/50 if you play footy you know you shouldn't really do that as for some reason you always end up coming off worse.

If Lovren shows the same commitment to the challenge and slid for the ball there's every chance his knee wouldn't have been hit.

Dude...you're saying that it was Lovren's fault because he slightly backed out of a dangerous challenge. It's hardly going to be a 50/50 when Gardner is using excessive force. :o

Come on, and people can hate all they want, I don't care...Gardner was in a massive egg of his confrontation with Milner, he took it out on Lovren. You could see how riled up he was following the spat. Not sure if it was shown on Match of the Day, or if the tackle was show in isolation. Gardner has done it before and will probably do it again. He is a dirty player with no respect for his fellow pros. He'd 'done' quite a few players in his career, and is never far from a controversial tackle. Fabregas, Adam, Wilkinson from memory, probably loads more.

I've watched it a couple of times and there is no excuse for his foot ending up that high at the end of the challenge.

Gardener also looked toward the ref as soon as he hit Lovren.

Are you sure that you aren't "just angry your man received the damage...."
