That's the worry. If the Wally with a Brolly has any nous about him, he'd set his team up to defend like nearly every team does at Anfield. Having said that, the Geordies are a fickle bunch, and are quick to judge...if it backfired, they'd be calling for his head straight away. Defending at home just isn't what the Newcastle fans want or expect to see.

Benteke missed a bit of a sitter didn't he. I think if we get a goal it might open the floodgates. Especially against this Newcastle team.

Not much to talk about really, Ibe has seen a lot of the ball but hasn't done a great deal with it other than that shot, and other than the Benteke miss it's been pretty quiet. Newcastle haven't looked too bad, had some good breaks but much like our play, the final ball has been poor.

Benteke has been a bit anonymous and Milner's been off the pace.

Get Sturridge or Origi on for the second half.

Anyway, still lacking any real quality when we get close to their goal and Moreno's leaving acres of space all the time, which is being exploited. This is the kind of consistency that needs to be addressed, I don't think we've yet had two good performances in a row under Klopp yet, have we?

What is making this game more frustrating is that there's so much space for both teams but they've both been useless in attack.

I'm not sure that'll make a great deal of difference, we've been pretty poor today - and that Sturridge miss sums things up so far really.

Sturridge managed to hit the corner flag with his best chance and probably the second good chance Liverpool have created all game.

Well without being unkind about those teams, they are more workmanlike and focus a bit more on closing down the oppositions' space, whereas City, Chelsea and Southampton would generally look to play their own game first and try to take control that way.
