Fucking Mignolet. The amounts of times I've written that. He's such a fucking liability. The time thing isn't usually called but that 'header' earlier too. Fucking sack the piece of shit. I'm amazed there isn't more consistent pressure to get rid of him, he's absolute shit.

I suspect the fact that there wasn't anybody around to replace him was the main factor.

Anyway, soft penalty there, but we'll take it.

Bogdan is a decent keeper, he looked decent for Bolton so I expect him to get a few games.

There just isn't any confidence in mignolet, He's bartez mk2. A decent shot stopper but a top club needs more than a shot stopper. If you don't command your box you shouldn't be playing for a top club.

This ref's gonna be calling obstructions and foul throws soon.

What's wrong with Bogdan? Or anyone else for that matter.

Bogdan isn't really an improvement, though, that's the problem. I said when we bought Mignolet that he was good, but was never going to be the type of player we needed to take us to the top-tier and Bogdan isn't either. Both good keepers, but not great.

Reina was well off the boil in his last season or two. Wouldn't dispute that he was better than Minge but I think it was the right decision to try and replace him.

Yeah he wasn't as good as before but doesn't mean he wouldn't have had a resurgence. Rodgers needed another sweeper keeper, he bought Mignolet. Don't make any sense!

The big point these is that Sturridge has ruled himself out....again. Surely with all the medical staff we have it should be up to them to decide if a player is fit or not?

He's either lazy or is constantly paranoid about injuries to the extent that he's ruining his career.

It makes me miss Suarez even more. He seemed indestructible in comparison. I'm not quite ready to just assume it's because it's all in his head yet, though. He's been rushed back from injury too many times before. He's right to be sure his body is ready. If people think he'd just prefer to be sat on the bench than out on the pitch playing then they're the mental ones.

I don't think it's a matter of him wanting to sit matches out, nobody is suggesting that. It's the problem of him feeling that any niggle or knock is enough of an injury to stop him playing and he needs to be perfect to commit to the team.

Yeah, but even if that is happening, it can only be for the odd game. That's not what's kept him out for weeks at a time, and caused him to require multiple surgeries. He's just very prone to soft tissue injuries. And some people are suggesting he's lazy and even resorting to petty insults. We all want him to play but I bet none of us want it as badly as he does.

For what it's worth I think there probably is an element of him being a bit soft about it. Players like him are going to get kicked and pulled about, and that's probably a big part of it, too. If he's worrying about a niggle being made worse. A lot of similar players have spoken about that over the years. Klopp's comments on it are quite telling. I also have to say he was one of the players I was worried wouldn't fit in under Klopp because I wasn't sure he'd trust his body enough to put it on the line. Hopefully he gets his head sorted and hopefully we manage him better in the future by not just playing him whenever fit until he breaks again.

From Carra on Sturridge:

"The one thing I remember most of all from being his team-mate is that he had to feel 100% right mentally and physically in order to play.

"The thing is, with professional football, it’s not often any player will take to the field 100% fit. There is always a knock or something niggling and when that is the case, you just grit your teeth and get through it."

He just seems very weak mentally, especially if you couple that with what Gerrard has said previously, it's frustrating as a fan, I've never known a player like it at the club.

I like your posts generally in here, Pockets, but I think you're way off the mark and into some bizarre world with that.

Sturridge clearly has an ego above many other players in the squad, he clearly is a bit precious at times (as various comments from former teammates have shown) but he also clearly and demonstrably wants to be the main man on the pitch. I used to say it when he and Suarez were tearing things up that they seemed to play against each other rather than as a front pairing that worked together. That situation worked because Suarez had a phenomenal work-rate and, especially in his second season, he became much more of a creator when there wasn't an opportunity for him to shoot - something Sturridge has yet to learn, as he'll shoot from everywhere.

Sturridge wants to score goals, how often does he look almost put-out that it when somebody else scores? But he possibly is a bit mentally-fragile. I suspect he also doesn't want to suffer an injury that causes him to miss the Euros next year, and he's just perhaps become too cautious because of the setbacks that he's had over the last few months.

But I definitely don't believe for a second that he's doing it to keep attention on himself by not playing.

He reminds me of a lot of some of the lads that have played in teams I've both played in and coached. Guys that lack confidence in their body. Plenty of guys, will pick up a knock and just tough it out and not even show that they've been hurt. Whereas these guys would be asking to come straight off if they felt a twinge. As a coach, I found it very divisive within the group - most people would be moaning at them and calling them a pussy or whatever, which would make them entrenched in their stance and then eventually isolated. I found they responded best to an arm around the shoulder and a bit of encouragement. It didn't always work, of course. That's just my own very anecdotal offering on something almost entirely unrelated to the situation at hand...

I don't think he's a billy big bollocks, and I don't think he's a ponce, either. I think he just doesn't trust his body - perhaps he's being over the top, but he's got a good reason - he's suffered a lot of injury problems. And I'm not talking about little pulls and twinges - he's had multiple surgeries for a variety of injuries. We need to be more patient and hope that Klopp can get him on the path to trusting his own body to stand up to what is a very intense task. Leading the line for Klopp is no picnic.

You're slacking bud, this is just not on.

A win for us and West Brom would be perfect and see us up to 6th.

I know a draw in the Spurs game would be more beneficial to us but will accept a Spurs win just for the Chelsea lols to continue.
