A lot of huff and puff, plenty of the ball but all a bit too central and often a little too slow to move it out wide. Palace started really well and deserved their lead, glad we equalised before half-time though, I think that'll put a different spin on the second-half. Liked how Neil McCann on commentary said 'a lovely dummy from Benteke,' - no, he just got caught-out by Lallana's flick

Lallana has continued to do a lot of running (the most so far in the little stat that popped-up) and had some decent moments, though with Coutinho out wide it means we have to rely completely on Moreno for any width on the left, so I don't think that works. Can has also been a bit sloppy with his passing in the defensive third, too, and both he and Moreno were at fault for the goal. Let's hope we step-up a gear in the second half.

What's happened to Sakho?

Jarred his knee - he landed on a straight leg. He tried to shake it off, but couldn't. Hopefully he hasn't done any serious damage - I still remember Fowler coming a right cropper to an innocuous landing.

I think under Klopp (and even before that, it was going that way) - Lallana will be one of our most important players over the next few years. And I reckon he will be solid and star for England.

Disappointing, though I can't say we were hard done by. It all kept getting a bit congested in the middle, with too many looking to play a killer pass. We struggled against the physicality that Palace had up front (a problem Skrtel has always had) and got bullied in midfield. Didn't create enough good chances, either.

Listened to this on the official site first time ever, sounds like we played well, and created loads of chances, the results at Anfield have been pathetic overall

weird hearing Mark Lawrenson not as a BBC neutral, saying 'we' and sounds a bit pissed off, not heard him like that before

We played well in spurts, but didn't force Hennessey into any saves bar a couple of fairly straightforward ones. Palace carved us open a few times though and the winner was disappointing - Mignolet pushed the ball straight back into Dann, rather than round the post. It was end to end at times, which seemed to benefit them more than us.

Hey, we're still in transition. These things happen.

I hate that phrase, but yeah. I'm disappointed but accept we have a long way to go. I remain unconvinced that Coutinho and Lallana at the same time offers us enough though.

Why didn't anyone hug Klopp?! :(

Jürgen Klopp said he felt “pretty alone” at the sight of Liverpool fans leaving Anfield after Crystal Palace’s 82nd-minute winner but insisted it was his team’s responsibility to keep people in attendance until the final whistle.

The new Liverpool manager suffered the first defeat of his reign as Yannick Bolasie and Scott Dann scored to give Alan Pardew’s team a third consecutive win in the Premier League fixture. Klopp looked on incredulously as dozens of supporters headed for the exits following Dann’s late goal and claimed it reflected a lack of belief in the team’s performance.

“It is not a problem to lose a game. It happens in football but we have to learn,” said Klopp. “If we learn, we decide how strong we are, how good we are, how awake we are and how tired we are. Nobody else. We played on Thursday but I decide if I am tired, nobody else. Today we needed a few minutes to come into the game. It was not enough. If everyone thinks we gave everything, then it is wrong.

“After the goal on 82 minutes, with 12 minutes to go, I saw many people leaving the stadium. I felt pretty alone at this moment. We decide when it is over. Between 82 and 94 [minutes] you can make eight goals if you like.

“Big decisions are made in moments when you are tired. Tonight it feels so bad because it was absolutely not necessary.”

Klopp said his frustration was not with the early leavers but his team’s inability to convince supporters that a point could be salvaged against an impressive Palace team. “I am not disappointed about this,” he clarified.

“They have reasons [for leaving] and maybe it is easier to go out, I don’t know. Don’t make a big thing about this but we are responsible that nobody can leave the stadium before the final whistle because anything can happen.

“We have to show this and we didn’t. Everything is OK but we can do better.”

Only ever left a goal early once and missed a goal, and even though it wasn't even Liverpool playing, I was gutted. Lesson learned.

Seems like as good as an excuse as any to post a favourite late winner.

Does he manage to ever last the full 90 mins for you lot? For us he always got hauled off on 65-70 min mark... don't think I ever saw him last a full 90....

regarding leaving early, yes it's a pain...

Don;t do it personally... but I've managed to miss my fair share of goals in the past...

I remember the Saints in the Paint pot cup when we were in League 1 a few years back..we won 4 - 1 or something... and I managed to miss all 4 of our goals due to various reasons (Taking a dump, having a wee and buying beer)....

Since 1990.

We are of course and I get it, but still. Hopefully this transition will be given time to go somewhere.

Good to know, it was hard to gauge.

I'll never understand people leaving early. Even when we're losing or drawing I stay till the final whistle because football can change in a matter of seconds.

To be fair, its a pretty long drive to London

I love the way he's phrased that frustration, I think I'm developing a man-crush on him. But it must be disappointing to see, especially as there were some people right behind him who got up and left. The one time I had to miss the last few minutes of a game to catch a train (last day of the season against Newcastle, Owen was still with us, so a while ago) I heard the cheers and 'Ooohs' and 'Ahhhs' as I was walking away and wished I hadn't left (if finished 1-1 and I didn't miss anything, but still.)

Shame we have an international break now, let's just hope we don't lose any more folks to injuries. What's the word on Sahko?

Not good, but at least it isn't as bad as first feared. Time for Lovren to step up and prove himself, he has had plenty of time at the club and Klopp should instill new confidence in him.

I'm still hoping Lovren can turn it around because he showed he can be decent at Southampton.

Same, I can't quite put it in to words but there's something reassuring about how he phrases things. Never met the guy, but I already feel like if I ever did I'd do whatever he asked me to, his charisma stats are +10.

Just hope he isn't ground down by the Premier League machine.

Can't stand fans who leave early, Kloppo is right to call them out on it.

I mean, sure...you pay the money, you can leave when you want. Fair enough.

But;

- it disrupts fans who are still there, who are willing to support the team until the end.

- It means you get less value for your ridiculously expensive ticket, as do the people you are disrupting by leaving.

- with most games being sold out, your ticket is stopping someone who wants to be there for 90 minutes.

....

and...I can't believe Sakho is out. Absolutely gutting. Double blow is that now we have to play Lovren.

The infrastructure around the stadium basically encourages people to leave early which is part of the problem. If you wait until the final whistle then your chances of getting a bus or taxi back into the city centre are practically zero and there really is bugger all decent facilities around the stadium to either get a decent bit to eat or go for a good pint.

I only go to two or three games a season so it's not a big deal for me but if you are going all season I can understand why you'd say fuck it and leave a bit early.
