1. The EPL has not been called the "premiership" for several years.

2. The Premier League is probably not going to bother with a title sponsor when Barclays' term expires after this year. It ain't worth that much compared to broadcast rights and so on. Maybe a bit more important for tinpot cup competitions.

Strong team out tonight except Lovren and Allen.

Game is on Freeview tonight too. No HD. Ch 59.

Thanks. It might be blurry but it beats watching games on an iPad since BT disabled screen mirroring in one of their latest updates.

They haven't, it still works fine using the standard player.

Edit: this is using a Chromecast if that makes a difference?

Chromecast and Apple TV still work according to the BT forums but I just plugged a HDMI cable into my iPad and used screen mirroring for the last year until they decided to disable it which is incredibly annoying. Almost as much as Owen's self congratulatory analysis.

A very important win, didn't want to be going into Bordeaux match on 4 points

I don't necesarily agree but I love the way Steve McMananman is so dismissive about how crap other teams are, I think he's done that every Liverpool European match, someone like Roy Hodgson and most other pundits would go on forever about how tough a game it is

Owen kept going and going, trying to justify his comment. It was a foul, it was a penalty. My favourite Owen-ism was when he said the made-up word 'possessioned'. Good job.

Just glad that Ibe scored the goal. He's still got some way to go but he's got the best smile. He's a better player than he thinks he is and I wish he knew!

So according to the Corinthians President we've agreed a deal to sign Pato in the summer. Don't know much about him tbh, but a quick Wikipedia shows he had a 1 in 2 record at Milan but is currently on loan from Corinthians to Sao Paulo which seems odd.

Good signing if it happens?

Milner has been absolutely dire in the last two games hasn't he. It was great to see him hauled off by Klopp, other managers might not have done that with him being 'the captain' (cough) and James Milner. I wonder if he's regretting moving at all now? No Brendan, no central role...? I think a lot of the negativity towards him stems not from his performances though, or his character...it's that he was given the vice captaincy after 2 minutes by Rodgers. It's a shame really.

I think he can be a valuable option for the wing, particularly given the way we're setting up at the moment. But, as you say, I doubt he's happy with that. He's just not a CM, really. His range of passing is too limited and if you think about the things he's able to do well - cross the ball, work clever overloads down the flank, run around forever, and there's that one ball he can play to perfection like some kind of a robot; hard, fast and completely in line with the touchline without ever spinning over it - then you realise he's just a workman like winger, and to play him anywhere else doesn't really make sense. I know everyone goes on about his spell in the middle for Villa, but I don't care about a purple patch from a tiny sample of games that took place years ago.

I think he just needs a bit of a break. He'd already covered more ground than anyone else in the league (that just includes league games so his ground covered stats are probably much higher than anyone else's when you add in European and cup games) before Klopp arrived and I assume Klopp didn't tell him to do less running when he arrived. Once Henderson gets back to fitness and Çan settles more into a midfield role I think we'll see Milners level rise again.

A bit less focus on his wages from some people wouldn't hurt either.
