Bugger !! Ings was playing so well lately.

So that leaves Origi & Sturridge up front then? Possibly Jerome Sinclair?

Out on loan we currently have

Yesil, Awoniyi & of course Balotelli. I think Benteke should be back fit soon hopefully.

I for one am surprised that Jurgen Klopp will have to deal with an injury to one of his players.

OK, to be fair I didn't expect him to end two seasons in 3 days.

This was my main reason for thinking he'd be suitable to take over at Arsenal though. It's fun getting players back from long-term injury.

a bit pricey?? The cheapest ticket available is about three times the price of a normal ticket at their venue. And there's exactly one seat left in that category. Next one: 5 times the normal price :hmm:

What site are you using? When I looked it was 100 francs which is roughly double a Kop ticket

Devastating news for Ings. He's been great when he's played so far this season. Someone who could have helped us now and got better and better for the future. His tireless running and determination would have worked well under Klopp I feel. It's a huge set back for him personally and for us as a team as well. Very, very unlucky. Can't believe we've lost two players for the season in a matter of days. Add to that injures to Henderson, Benteke, Firmino and of course Flanno.

Gutted about this and for Ings. Had taken his chance so well and was excited to see him play more. :(

Might mean we have to pay Burnley less now.

Leaves Sturridge as the only real striker (classing Origi as more of a winger) and he's likely a light breeze away from a snapped leg.

Time to bring back the 'telli.

Yes but he did it after his england training. I wouldnt be surprised if old woy and dopey gareth southgate have some crap outdated methods. No the wonder managers dont like letting their prized assets go off to play in pointless internationals.

Ings did his cruciate in training this morning at Melwood.

Edit: Which is doubly unfortunate, as UEFA would have covered his wages if he had done it on international duty.

Ah right thought it was duty to England duty. But like angel says, it was straight after England duty so wouldn't surprise me either if what they were doing in the England camp aggravated it. Massive shame though because I really liked his work and he was perfect for those cup games too.

Gutted for Gomez And Ings, we're really gonna struggle with all these players out, it will certainly be interesting to see our team line up tomorrow lunchtime!

It makes the decision to loan out Markovic all the more idiotic. I guess it gives the U21s a chance to impress though, especially in the Europa League and League Cup.

Sick of England injuring our players. I have no doubt his week with that dinosaur will have contributed to the injury he suffered right away upon his return.

For sure, England have a long history of ignoring clubs instructions over player "handling guides" for want of a better term, they over train and stress them with complete disregard to existing conditions, then pack them off back to the club. Injury comes up as soon as they train again, England deny all knowledge, the club are stuck footing the bill, another crocked player.

Lets face it, Hodgson was hardly a raging success before he came to England, he just fit the profile and was subserviant to the FA - being multi lingual didnt hurt him either. Southgate was useless as a club manager too, but again, says the right things, gets the youth job. Anyone decent is employed by a club. Ings was probably so blinded by the lights of his call up that he trusted they knew how to handle him, I dont blame him at all.

Just everything about these international breaks fucks me off, no proper footy for a fortnight just for the sake of this qualification against minnows, a pointless 100% record - because we really didnt play anyone - and players go back to clubs with injuries. I mean a whole fucking season for Ings, bloody hell. Great impression for Klopp of the international setup too, I bet a lot of players will be having some invented niggles preventing them playing for the next set of pointless friendlies.

Given the depleted squad, we haven't got many options for tomorrow, so it'll probably be something like this (in Klopp's favoured 4-2-3-1 formation):

----------Mignolet

Clyne--Skrtel--Sakho--Moreno

--------Can----Milner

--Origi--Lallana--Coutinho

--------Sturridge

Subs: Bogdan, Toure, Allen, Lucas, Rossiter, Ibe, Teixeira

Actually, it's probably not that far off his first choice 11 when everyone is fit.

It's hardly England's fault that loads of club players have convenient "injuries" at internationals time though. I remember it used to be more of a problem for Wales though, Giggs lol.

Eh? you've got it backwards, clubs do this because England handle their multi million pound talent badly. Ings out? Fine...we'll get someone else in from another club. Liverpool would have to pay 20 mil in January to get someone else in.

Clubs might do that, but since England no doubt disagree and know that half the time clubs are doing it's bullshit, they check. Of course they do!

I dunno, a lot of doctors in this thread, Ings did his ligaments because of something that happened with England... but not enough to actually break them until he'd got back and trained for a bit? OK. Perhaps Liverpool, with their much better knowledge and distrust of England's training, should've given him an extra day or two off first.

England also did 90% of the damage to the cruciates of Subotic and Blaszczykowski, y'know. Nothing to do with Klopp wanting more intense training (and Ings previously having trained completely differently at Burnley), at all. That's a complete coincidence.

Bloody England.

I'm surprised Arsenal, with all their injury woes, haven't cottoned on to this handy scapegoat.

Not enough English players (for a period of time) , it did used to happen to van Persie every time he played for Holland though
