"I will do my best with what I am working with".

I am probably being massively naive, stupid, uninformed or all of the above, and have long-since lost track of what goes on 'behind-the-scenes' thanks to the lack of knowing a decent source who might *nudge, nudge, wink, wink* know something, but is Rodgers not part of our award-winning transfer committee? So he is in part responsible for the players he's working with? Or is it like the Stone Cutters, and he is only ranked #28 and his vote equates to not very much. Or are FSG to blame? Or traffic wardens? Or that bloke on the number 72 bus with the spooky glint in his squinty eye?

Expecting (dreading) a resounding victory for Everton today. But if they can't beat this current Liverpool side, they should probably take up hockey or darts or synchronised swimming. The People's Synchronised Swimmers.

Wow, I know things haven't been great for a while, but it's disappointing to see such negativity in here. For what it's worth, I don't think Everton are all that good, though Lukaku will cause us a lot of problems if he's allowed to get into his stride. I think we'll win or draw, form never really counts for much in these games and I think our pace up front could force them to play a little bit deeper than they'd like, and we could profit from that because it will hopefully give Phil a bit more time on the ball.

Even if Everton now win 5-1, that won't be worse than sitting through a half-time featuring Andy 'Andrew' Cole, Dick Keys, Peter Reid and Andy Gray. It was horrible, but I couldn't take my eyes off it.

Everton have been well on top since about the 15th-minute. Not sure we have any options on the bench to do much about it, either. Our front players haven't really had much change out of their makeshift defence, which is very disappointing.

hairy hands keyes and sexist old andy gray, made sky unwatchable on a sunday pundit wise. real dark days

Keys is like a genetic experiment where a mad scientist distilled all of the raving loonies on 606 and Talksport into a blender, added a copy of Zoo magazine, a tabloid newspaper and all the hair that gets discarded from a smokey barbershop, then poured the contents into a doughy sack.

It's not been a spectacle, that's for sure. Everton were by far the better team, Howard had absolutely nothing to do. There's pretty much nothing positive we can take from that, it was completely flat. No ideas, no class or control on the ball, no chances.

Ings again ran around a lot, but the movement in general from both he and Sturridge was so predictable, rarely stretching the backline, though in fairness they were given nothing to work with. I wonder what magical words Rodgers will find to describe that? Perhaps "showed character during a difficult period" or something. How Ings in his interview thinks we created a lot of chances and defended well is bizarre.

I said this before the transfer window closed, but we are again at a point where our squad isn't very strong. From the bench today we had youngsters who are, at best, good potentials and Lallana. Not good.
