Urgh, both hate and love this fixture. Both teams are flattering to deceive at the moment. Rooney will inevitably break his duck and don't think we've currently got the fluidity, or cohones, to really trouble them at the moment. Guessing a 2-0 home win, but we'll obviously be 'outstanding'. Anything better will be a very welcome bonus.

Yeah, Ings will be out wide, no way would Rodgers play two up front at Old Trafford.

Don't really like the look of that side, to be honest. You have, essentially, 3 more defensive-minded midfielders, then a big gap, then a striker and a number 10 both out wide. We've seen a lot so far this season that our midfield don't get forward in support all that much, and I don't see that changing today.

If Rodgers had any sense, he'd play two up top and look to isolate Blind like Swansea did to us. Ings and Benteke could give Smalling and Blind a tough time.

Playing Ings out wide I would expect Darmian/Shaw to be comfortable.

Our general play in our third of the pitch is atrocious, and has been for a while. Skrtel, Lovren and Mignolet have no ability on the ball and yet they seem to all want to have a go with it. The number of passes we've given away already today is shocking.

Christ, that was rubbish (from both sides).

We have absolutely no movement up front or support for Benteke, defensively we're causing all the problems ourselves and this system does nothing for anybody. Firmino has done nothing so far all season, and it's partly because he's being played out wide. Ings, too, is nullified by playing out wide but, when we don't have the ball, almost dropping to the full-back position. Nearly every ball forward is a hoof to Benteke, which has been pretty much the same every game and we don't ever look like scoring (not just in this game).

Both teams are so slow in trying to move the ball, too. As a spectacle, it's terrible.

Still, it's 0-0 so I'd take that at the start. And I quite like the white kit. They are the only positives though.

I'm surprised any of the pundits thought Ings would play as a 2 up top - that was never going to happen. And because of that, I'd give Origi a go, at least he has some pace.

Thats the problem isn't it, Rodger trying to fit players round a formation rather than the other way round.

School boy defending for that goal then, there were about 3 unmarked United defenders. Even Neville comments on Blind maybe taking it just before he strikes it.

This is awful football.

Why did the club think keeping Rodgers was a good idea? It was clear last season that he'd lost any sense of how we should play football. He's constantly trying to fit players into a formation that doesn't suit them. We're just carrying on where we left off against Crystal Palace and Stoke last season.

Least we've got a consolation goal...
