sunderland fans dont want him though, certainly the ones i speak to alongside myself, who i also speak to. as soon as he started turning us down last year and being a dick, most fans wrote him off. he'll have get some important goals to win us round again.

In what way was he being a dick by not wanting to sign for a team likely to be struggling when, at the time, he wanted to stay and fight for his place with us? That's hardly unreasonable behaviour. He did a job for you guys to help keep you up so he hardly owes the fans anything.

That said, of course I know what a lot of fans are like. Do you reckon he's going to get grief from the off then?

its just the way he went about it, i have no problem with a player for a better team wanting to go back there, LFC are obviously light years ahead of us in ambition, prestige and so on. he just left a bit of a sore taste in mouths up here. i mean we'll support absolutely anyone who looks like theyre putting a shift in, we're standing by adam johnson, we even added mini judas to sunderland folklore because of the volley he hit against newcastle last season. advocaat likes his strikers to defend as much as attack and i cant see borini enjoying that too much. probably get one season out of him then sell him abroad for a loss.

In fairness, one of Borini's attributes is that he'll run around and make himself a nuisance so I don't think defending from the front will be an issue for him.

The downside, of course, is that he just isn't very good.

We've signed 18 year-old Nigerian forward, Taiwo Awoniyi. And immediately loaned him out to Frankfurt.

Don't think we're in the market for anyone else, bit disappointing the Babbel-copter will be grounded and we won't hear rumours such as, 'my mate's brother's nan got in a taxi and the driver said he was at Liverpool John Lennon picking up that Didier Baptiste earlier'.

Ings playing :) Does this mean he's going for a two upfront? Surely the only effective way to accommodate both Benteke and Sturridge in the future.

Rodgers really has a hard on for Lovren

I think Ings will probably start out wide. Same system they have been using since the beginning of the season?

I'm concerned about the outcome but we'll see.

Yeah, Ings will be out wide, no way would Rodgers play two up front at Old Trafford.

Don't really like the look of that side, to be honest. You have, essentially, 3 more defensive-minded midfielders, then a big gap, then a striker and a number 10 both out wide. We've seen a lot so far this season that our midfield don't get forward in support all that much, and I don't see that changing today.
