Lovren looked pretty assured tonight,a very different prospect to the same player as last season.

Joe Gomez struggled for the first 70 minutes or so, probably due to playing at Anfield for the first time. Still good enough though.

Can, again, showed the quality he possesses, he is brilliant. Milner ran himself into the ground but didn't have too much quality to his play.

Hope that the clean sheets keep going, but hard to imagine it with this kind of defending against the likes of Sanchez. Coutinho was great in the first half, but shiuld have scored really, Benteke should have as well. Hard to make a judgement about anyone else. Moreno played like he had a point to prove as a sub.

Yeah Benteke should have scored that late chance but other than that I thought he played well when he was involved. Good touches, dominating, controlled the ball well and decent passing (minus a long one whilst trying it switch it near the end). Plus he got into the areas we need striker to, to get he goal. He's off the mark early too which is great.

Happy with a cleansheet.

Good that Benteke scored. Couts looked a bit off. Can should have started (ahead of Lallana or Ibe), Lovren looked alright but would still have preferred Sakho. Moreno showed he still has something to offer when he came on. Should have scored more goals.

For me:

Their goal was rightly disallowed. He was holding Lovren down, preventing him from jumping so he could get the header in.

Our goal, under the new rules for this season, was obviously offside. No questions there. It's a pity (for Bournemouth) the officials didn't seem to know the rules had changed. On that point, I wish they'd stop messing with rules.

There's no point saying though, 'oh you needed an offside goal to win'...goals change games, and unless a goal comes very, very late, then you have no way of knowing what would have happened. We for example could have pressed harder if it was still 0-0, sent on Ings, Origi etc etc. You just don't know.

Clyne and Gomez looked great again. Lovren whilst better, still hasn't got me convinced. Anyone who simply runs at him has success. Hopefully Henderson will be back next week. Ibe done okay, but still needs more work. Lallana was rubbish again, if it isn't a case of fitness, there's no justification to play him next game. Milner, worked very hard though not spectacular. Coutinho was running the show for us as usual. Can does look a great player, but does need to work on his decisions I feel, too often he's getting caught chasing because of a poor starting position - though he often does a great job in rectifying that with a decisive tackle. Benteke looked good, should have had two. But is obviously still finding his place in the team. Moreno was very interesting when he came on, take away the majority of his defensive responsibility and we could have a threat there on the left.

Arsenal next, I think most people will expect us to get beat, I probably think the same. I'd be happy with a draw there.

Not a great performance and lucky result for us. Our goal certainly should have been disallowed and I think theirs should have stood. Still two wins and two clean sheets from two games.

Clyne looks excellent, been impressed with Milner too. Gomez looks like a good long term prospect, but much like Ibe I don't think he's good enough just yet for a long run in the first team. I think the protection Milner and Henderson provide in front of the back four is helping us out defensively, as is Clynes pace to recover certain situations.

1-0 home to bournemouth and it needed an offside goal, and legit goal chalked off for them.

How was their goal legit? He was literally climbing up Lovren and pushing down on his shoulders. For me, neither goal should have stood, but it is what it is. Every club gets bad decision against them and had this been the other way round no one would care, everyone would just be calling us sore loses.

If the lead up to the disallowed Bouremouth goal was a foul, then Liverpool would have finished bottom of the league last season thanks to the 14 penalties that Martin Skrtel would have given away in every match.

And he should stop doing that, we all agree on that because one day he'll get caught out. But Skrtel not getting punished doesn't stop Bournemouth goal being a foul. What point are you trying to make?

'One day he'll get caught out'. He's been doing that for 4 or 5 years. When will that be exactly?

Obviously refs have decided that it's ok for Skrtel to climb all over and manhug Premier League strikers to stop them from jumping, which makes a complete mockery of last night's decision.

So because one of our defenders has been getting away with something that pretty much every club has been doing, Bournemouth should be allowed a goal created from a foul? I'm not defending Skrtel and I wished he'd stop doing it, but the point is, Bournemouths goal was a foul and was rightfully disallowed.
