We've rejected the loan. But there's no smoke without fire. They wouldn't make the offer if they didn't think they could get him. He's streets ahead of Lovren. He should be starting. Then of course we obviously need him for backup. It would be madness to let him go. As a committee signing and not a Rodgers signing though, I fear he will always be 2nd best...if only to prove a point.

Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren, Gomez, Henderson, Milner, Coutinho, Lallana, Ibe, Benteke.

Team unchanged for tomorrow, but Can and Firmino really close to starting.

It wasn't a balanced starting team last week, I doubt it will be this week.

I think Bournemouth this early in the season is a nightmare. Thank God they lost last week though.

I remember being in Bournemouth a few years ago and seeing loads of people with buckets collecting money to keep them afloat. 10 minutes from being out of the football league to this. Their turnaround is unreal.

Good like to them staying in the prem but hopefully they don't start winning just yet.

Let's not forget that we actually played Bournemouth twice in 2014. Both away. And beat them, twice. We played a strong team in each game.

History tells us though that we should never be too cocky, that nightmare 1-0 home loss scoreline has been all to present in these types of games in recent years.

It's Bournemouth's first trip to a big ground in the Premier League so I'm hoping the occasion gets the better of them and not the opposite...that it has a game raising affect.

Plenty of teams have looked great in the Championship, only to come up to be whipping boys in the Premier League...the gulf in quality is vast in my opinion. It's too early to tell what Bournemouth are going to be like with only 2 games gone though.

An early goal for us will definitely calm the nerves and set us on our way. It's a weird thing to say, but I feel it's a game we could lose 1-0 or win 4-0, It all depends on how we get going.

Just on the team news too guys. Don't work for the club, and it certainly isn't from RAWK (cough) or another website, it comes direct to me from someone inside the club. However, please don't put money down on it or anything as changes can still happen at the last minute, forced or otherwise. I know last season that Brendan became so paranoid about team leaks that a number of different teams were sent out on the grapevines as a ruse, so it is that to consider as well. Players are now told 24 hours before kick off the team and that's when I should have it each week (if you guys want it). But really just want to cover myself in case it is wrong and someone comes along and has a go. I was shocked when I heard it to be honest as Can and Firmino have been playing in training all week like they were starting. Add to that we were much better with them on in the first game, I was genuinely surprised that I was told that the team was unchanged. I'm actually hoping it is wrong to be honest. I can't wait to see Firmino in action, and absolutely love Can as a player too.

I'm not surprised that it will be the same team as last week as Rodgers was basically saying that at this time of the season he doesn't need to rotate. A settled side is a good thing IMO as well.

Be good to see Firmino and Ings at some point though.

A Benteke hat trick would be a good start for him too! So I'm going for 3-1.

So, saved so far by two terrible decisions in our favour and that becomes the narrative post-match.

Don't like this set-up, it's working for Coutinho but everybody else looks a bit anonymous. If Bournemouth continue to target Lovren they'll probably get some joy, too.
