First game today, pity won't be able to watch live. No big loss, usually drab affairs on the playing field. The Asian fans are always great though, making an occasion out of it. The fans last season in Indonesia were crazy.

So pleased he's gone. BBC put up a highlight reel of sterling and there's only 15 seconds of actual football in it ha. Good luck city. :)

his management team probably asked an exorbitant fee for it.

But the most shocking thing is; £200k a week wages!!! How the hell did he get that??? Puts to bed his argument that it isn't about the money, the motivation definitely was a huge pay day.

I don't get the logic of this. Just because he's got a big pay rise doesn't mean that was his reason for leaving. He's joined a team that have won the league two out of the last four seasons, are consistently in the Champions League, are hugely ambitious, and have the funds to back up their ambition. The footballing reasons for the move are as compelling as the financial ones for the player.

Out of interest, to the outside world, what would be different if he was moving to win things rather or had an issue with the setup that wasn't resolvable?

He could be playing it totally straight and money wasn't a concern.

The only thing Henderson lacks is a little confidence to go for the kind of pass he went for today, and to get forward into goal scoring positions. Once he has that, which I'm sure he will this season, now that he isn't in Gerrard's shadow, I think we'll once again see another level from him. He's probably one of the most improved players I've ever seen in a Red shirt....and has a great attitude and work ethic to match. To think, we tried to swap him for Clint Dempsey a few seasons ago.

Henderson has got the odd bit of flair in him, he scored a couple of nice goals in a purple patch last season.. think he'll cope with the pressure of being captain though?

I think Toure's experience will help him behind the scenes and I hope he just captains in his own way, rather than trying to be like Gerrard was.

I think the issue us he's 20 and could conceivably stay with us another 5 years and still not reach his peak, then if we're more last season than the one before he can say it's to win things legitimately.

Anyway, it's done, we have youngsters maybe not as good but still promising and want to play for us so it's done. That's football.

I'm really non plussed about Sterling leaving, very unusual for me to just 'shrug' at the idea of a £49m player leaving Liverpool FC. It might be because I don't feel the price tag is justified, because he only shows flashes of brilliance or just because he hasn't done enough to really make me think we will struggle without him. I do know though that if Coutinho was the one leaving, I'd be unhappy, or Hendo, or Sturridge.

We move on, they'll be another Sterling soon enough.

His original issue was wanting to be nearer London. A move to Manchester hasn't really helped that but the £200k a week obviously does. Rail tickets are expensive I suppose.

Technically it is nearer ;)

Train to Euston every 20 minutes from Piccadilly too. It's hourly from Lime St.

Don't be that guy. Ibe seems like he should turn into a good player but this assumption that he is just going to step up and replace Sterling isn't realistic or fair. He'll be under enough pressure just playing for Liverpool without the added pressure of people expecting him to perform like a £50million player.
