We seem to be very busy in our transfer dealings so all the other club supporters are a tad jealous :)

Need another striker & a decent centre back then I think we are done.

I don't think we're after another centre back, it's definitely been quiet on that front. I think we'll persist with the trio of Lovren (surely he can only get better?), Sakho (He'll be a rock if he stays the season injury free) and Skrtel. We've also got Ilori and Wisdom who hopefully can show some of their potential pre season and stake a claim. You don't want to bring in too many players and have the trouble of fitting them all in which caused issues last season. We've definitely strengthened the first 11 with Clyne, Firmino and Milner surely to be starters. I can see a striker being the next port of call but I wouldn't be surprised if that depends on whether we sell Sterling or if we can move Balo, Borini and Lambert on.

Why is everyone so against Benteke? He bangs them in regularly for a shit Villa team who barely score goals. There are not many players who can do that. My only concern is his injury record. We don't want to have two forwards occupying the physio room more than the football pitch.

Could Benteke replicate the off-the-shoulder runs of Daniel Sturridge, latching onto Coutinho's through-balls and harrying defenders off the ball? It is unlikely.

Signing Benteke would have merely reproduced the problems Rodgers faced with Mario Balotelli in 2014/15.

The Italian's tendency to drop deep to affect play, and his physical rather than intellectual approach to dominating defences, both feature in Benteke's playbook.

See, this is what I don't understand, what exactly would people be bitter about?

It's their own problem. You see them when they come to Anfield...they spend 90 minutes hurling abuse at the home fans or singing about getting a job, feeding the Scousers or even songs about dead football fans. It's less about supporting their own team, and more about letting all the bile and hatred they have for Liverpool as a club or it's people, come out. Makes them feel big, part of the anti Scouse club. When it comes to football, some people can't think straight...they let their petty prejudices shine through, SaintM for example being the most guilty on here. I can imagine him sitting there in his Southampton bubble, talking absolute crap about Liverpool...sad thing is...people will agree with him, even if they don't admit it out loud. Fans like him and others who support such views are just a stain on modern day football.

Without knowing any of the individuals who post, I take none of the posts seriously in these football threads. It's all banter with mates, we (LFC fans) also give as good as we get when it comes to talking the piss out of the other teams.

Sorry everyone for having to wade through this rubbish, I'm clearly an enabler for some pretty bizarre behaviour from our mutual friend so I'll try not to antagonise the situation by responding to him directly.

I'm sorry for all my terrible crimes against LFC. The bile and hatred I have welling up needs an outlet, so the only way is to post such inflammatory packages of pure evil like:

"I think Clyne could go to a bigger club"

or

"No refunds for Lovren!"

Only God can forgive me these heinous crimes, but I ask for your understanding in the meantime.

Perhaps, if you could somehow steel yourself against the disgust, you could post some of my most hate filled, bile splurges? I'm sure it'd help me see the error of my ways.

You'd think he'd be happy with the 'continuing rise of the Saints.' Champions League place this season, league title the next...and then maybe even the big one: Southampton - European Champions. The Saints are rising people, rising all the way to the top...watch out!
