Scapegoats?

Rodgers kept his job if his team lost theirs?

Interesting really, I don't imagine Rodgers would sack his bezzie if he had a choice.

....

Looks like we are signing Adam Bogdan from Bolton to replace Brad Jones. He's younger, but other than that...it's a whatever signing. Not someone to pressurise Mignolet.

Rumours of Mateo Kovacic from Inter too, which would be a good signing, but just rumours at this stage.

Sterling bids must be surely incoming soon...if it's Arsenal, City and Chelsea...we need to get players off them in exchange. Who we could realistically get I don't know. Walcott being rumoured, who would be superb...but I just don't see him wanting to come here, despite being a Liverpool fan. Hopefully Rafa will come in with a big money offer, and possibly players for him. Get him out the country. He might fancy that, as he will undoubtedly fail there and then he can join United when he does, as Liverpool will have no dealings with United direct.

That's two then, loving that we are getting these deals done quickly.

Now to sure up the defence another experienced CB, LB & RB please. We have enough midfielders now so don't need any more & a couple of more strikers would be good.

Also we need to move some players on like Balotelli, Borini, Lambert, Lovren (If we can)

I completely disagree (surprise, surprise!) with the rest of you. I think Sakho is our best defender by a stretch and I don't think it makes sense to renew Skrtel's contract at his age and ability level. I'd be looking to phase Lovren in at RCB properly this season (nope; still haven't written him off), and let Skrtel act as cover until his contract's up.

Sakho is definitely our best defender. No doubt about it for me. We shouldn't have let Agger go either. Him and Rodgers though didn't get on apparently. Which seems to be a recurring theme with Brendan.

He's better than borini, lambert or ballotelli for the way Rogers plays so he will get game time. With sturridge having big injury problems I can see why he picked Liverpool as he is likely to play. Hopefully he can improve our goal tally next season.

If we have a bad start to the new season, I expect he will be gone before the end of the year.

Chewylegs - Burnley announced that he was leaving two weeks ago. The reason he wasn't a Liverpool player in January was that Premier League rules wouldn't allow it.

I was laughing at you getting your arse out about Liverpool announcing it. Everyone knows he won't be our player until the 1st.

Happy with Ings, but hopefully he and Origi are being looked at as support rather than our main strike force (same goes for Sturridge unless his new legs are working). Hope we can splash some big bucks on someone like Cavani as difficult as it may be to persuade players like that to give up CL football.

Wonder how much we'll be paying for Ings, hopefully the bid from Spurs isn't considered when they decide... £10m max, hopefully less.

That Spurs bid was kind of infuriating. They knew full well he only had eyes for us and the deal was more or less done. Only serving to raise the tribunal fee. I don't blame them for playing dirty. But it is annoying.

We definitely need another main striker though. Sturridge is crocked, Ings and Origi are young and to be honest, aren't the standard I would expect of our main striker...not yet anyway. I think at best Origi could be a Welbeck, at worse an N'Gog. Let's hope he kicks on though. Ings I'm a bit more excited about. Looks exactly the type of player we need, though certainly not a 1st choice at this moment. Would immediately put him ahead of Borini, Lambert and Balotelli in the pecking order though.

Good news if true, it's unusual for chairmen to stick with the manager and sack those behind the cene, it looks like alot of heads are rolling lately. I haven't seen any links confirming this, what is your source?

And if true who has been working on the Milner and Ings deals?

Looks like Southampton are signing their possible Clyne replacement. Not long now before Chelsea or Spurs come in with a bid for Clyne to scupper our plans.

I like Clyne but Spurs already have enough right backs, so unless Kyle Walker's recent injury problems are going to effect him in the long term, I can't see Tottenham going or Clyne.
