Ah well Europe League it is, no way we'll make up the difference. Nice to see some Chelsea fans give Gerrard a standing ovation

He had some well chosen words for them afterwards :D

I think you have to have a very short memory to think fifth isn't pretty good all things considered.

Really, in a league as weak as this year's? There are some mitigations but few that aren't our own fault; even the extent of Sturridge's absences hasn't exactly been that much of a surprise.

Also we'd be more like 7th if Spurs and Southampton hadn't gone on holiday already.

Really? I mean, that was basically your big chance that you just passed there. If you had kept a weak Man United side out of the top four you would have scuppered their UCL dependent Chevy funding and potentially readdressed the balance of power in the league.

The dream was never real.

The Chevrolet deal isn't performance related.

The new Adidas deal that starts next season, is. However it's two consecutive years of non CL football from when the deal starts, so the end of the 16/17 season if the target was missed would be the earliest opportunity.

Even then the penalty of a 30% cut would still see Utd have the highest kit supplier deal in the league (750m over 10 years is the full deal).

I understand wanting to get Gerrard a goal but if he's not in the right position to shoot don't bloody pass it to him. Henderson should have tried to take that himself.

Also Sterling's having a laugh if he thinks he's worth £110k a week with the way he's been playing.

The second half has been fucking surreal, like a testimonial. I mean, obviously our season is long over and this might as well be a friendly but it's still bizarre to watch.

Palace were fantastic in the second half, totally deserved the win. This team has a lot of work to do to be contending for anything next season. Weak up front, fragile in midfield and shaky in defence.

Gerrards probably glad to see the back of us after that. Did any of our players even care? Some of then seriously need to have a good hard look at themselves. Losing faith in Rodgers and last years 2nd place looks more and more like a fluke every week. We could sti end up finishing 7th now too.

Thanks for the memories Stevie, shame the team couldn't have done better for you today.
