We're so close. So, so close. Rodgers has turned this around in spectacular and rapid fashion. I really didn't think he'd do it but he has. There's still a few holes to patch up but he looks up to the job.

I, for one, disagree that spectacular fashion is drawing and losing to Chelsea plus barely scraping through cup games against lower league sides - and last night they were down to ten men.

I had a little more faith than you I must admit, but still had some reservations.

It's great to see players looking comfortable out there again. Skrtel will still get a hard time because of how shaky he occasionally looks but anyone who thinks he hasn't been playing superbly during our good run hasn't been watching that closely. Having more accomplished players around him helps, but that's true of any centre back.

It's all gonna come crashing down now isn't it? :(

Skrtel can be a bit of a liability at times, but overall I think he does a good job and the positives outweighs the negatives to his game.

Not sure what team we'll be playing at the weekend. Sturridge should be ready to start, we need Lucas back in and Gerrard will play as it'll be his last Merseyside derby. Who gets dropped from last nights starting 11 - other than Allen which is a given.

I didn't mean spectacular as in we've gone back to knocking goals past teams for fun. I meant it in the sense that we're playing sexy football, controlling games and looking solid. I really didn't think this was going to happen. Even so, we did outplay Chelsea - and let's not forget they've been the best team in England so far this season - over the two legs and got done over by some poor refereeing decisions in the process. The same thing happened last night.

I would rather bathe in a sea of shit than see Skrtel as a long term first teamer.

I would normally agree but he's been playing well since the switch to 3 at the back. I'm not saying he can't be improved upon. Maybe Brendan will sort Lovren out and he'll eventually take his place. In the mean time, his performances as a sweeper have justified his selection - which definitely couldn't have been said during his time in a back 4 this season.

Fair point. I just think we are still likely to turn out a poor result at any moment.

Gerrard called on the club to get Henderson and sterling tied up.

The way it's going I think sterling leaving is a realistic proposition because there has been silence on the matter for a while after rumblings in the media of an imminent contract extension
