It was a very good win today against a decent team, I thought it would be another 0-0, we would be a bit knackered after mid week, we struggle to score anyway and Allardyce would shut up shop

Trying to work out which is easiest way back into having another go at the Champions League next year, the league or winning Europa cup, plus there's FA Cup, it would be great if we could win a trophy in Stevie's last year, it's gonna be very hard for us to achieve all 3 though, especially with us having gone far in the League cup aswell

Agreed not knowing the result I worry when we are so low down on the order of play on MOTD.

I was expecting a draw but with a 2-0 win we should have been higher up the order.

Anyhow, great to have Sturridge back.

It's going to be a tough battle between quite a few teams for 3rd/4th but hopefully we can make some signings before transfer deadline to mount a challenge.

For a neutral it's much more interesting if it's high scoring or Liverpool lose at home. A major team low down the order usually implies either a fairly routine win or a dull draw or something. Ours wasn't the worst game in the world but it was firmly in the former category, and I think there were reasons why all of the earlier games were more interesting, so I don't really know why you'd expect it to receive higher billing. We weren't even last; there were two games after us.

Can't believe how low on running order we are. Last prem game was Villa and we were last.

I wonder who decides. Whoever used to must have a new job. New guy clearly isn't a Liverpool fan.

There's rumours about Gary Lineker fucking off in the near future (to BT apparently), due to no confidence in the product any more.

He's going to do both MOTD and BT's Champions League coverage in theory.

Unless BT have also got the PL rights now as well? That will be announced soon and if they have you wouldn't blame Lineker for moving.

Lambert moving is very strange. Not entirely sure what they're gonna do if they let him go, that'll mean Balotelli and Sturridge are the only two recognised strikers in the squad and in reality only one of those has played anything like a striker this season.

edit : Forgot about Borini, but I dont think he is any good so theres no problem with that.

edit edit : Lambert has decided to stay at the club.

Didn't Ince believe the hype that surrounded him? Whenever I've watched him recently he doesn't really seem that interested, hes not evening trying anymore.

I think the player decided to leave Liverpool and try to find the limelight that way but it hasn't worked. He probably could have done quite well under Rodgers if he had worked hard and tried to force his way into the squad.

Last summer wasn't he being linked to Inter Milan, Monaco, PSG, Benfica and us. Then ended up at Hull and loaned out to a Championship team, twice. What happened?

Where's our new keeper? I bet Mignolet was only keeping those cleansheets because he was worried a replacement was coming in, now the windows shut he better not slack off.

I think having Lucas ahead of the defence and the change in formation has improved Mig's confidence. Whether he is good enough for #1 in the long term is a different question, but I reckon he's solid enough now until the end of the season.

Aye, so glad the Lucas to Inter rumours didn't go ahead. Makes a real difference to the team. Lucas :wub:

I hate away FA Cup ties against lower league teams. They can kick lumps out of you, foul again and again and the ref constantly waves it away. Any of their lot advance with the ball at all and if they go down, the red can't blow his whistle fast enough! Sterling should have had at least 3 free kicks in good positions, but naturally nothing was given.
