No doubt De Gea (or Dr Tea as autocorrect wants to call him) is great but a lot of the saved he's made today have been straight at him and down to incredibly poor finishing from us.

We can't score. We can't defend. Rodgers must be close to going, I hope not but something needs to change. A shake up of his staff perhaps. A new keeper and a striker that can score is needed in January. A new defensive coach to sort out the shit at the back out.

I think if we lose (and we very well might) mid week that could be it.....oh and btw Man Utd are gash, they'll get found out

They won't get found out because everyone knows they're shit anyway, just keep grinding out results.

The biggest sting today was not the fact that Sterling cant finish, thats something that shouldn't be a surprise. It was how the game just passed Gerrard by without any hint of incident, its the first Man Utd game I've watched where Gerrard hasn't managed to get involved at all. Its clear that the deep lying play maker just isn't suited to him and that if they want to use him at all it'll have to be higher up the pitch but a lot more sparingly.

Joe Allen, yet again, showed exactly why he shouldn't be at the club and I think Lallana can be aggrieved that he was taken off at half time considering he was one of the better performers in the first half.

Brad Jones is never ever going to be an alternative for just about any goalkeeper in the Premier League, he is terrible.

The biggest difference today wasn't De Gea, it was the fact Utd have goalscorers and Liverpool have nothing at the moment. Before the last three games I was accepting of how the team was and felt that getting Sturridge back, whilst not the final piece of the jigsaw, could have made for a more competitive team.

After today I reckon the next signing by the club needs to be a proven goal scorer if they harbour any ambition for becoming a regular Champions League club. That will demand a big investment from the club and I'm not sure that is the way the owners wish to run the club.

edit : Its disheartening reading fans of the club are questioning Rodgers' position. Last season was a flash of brilliance and luck that the attacking part of the team was as good as it was. They sold one of the best players in the world at the time and it is clear to just about anyone that the squad was terribly thin outside of the first 11.

The manager has, with the progress made since he joined, at least earned himself this season and at least the first half of the next before there can be any question of whether or not he is able to push the team forward.

I said the other week he should get this season because if the credit built up but getting knocked out of champions league and league cup would be pushing it, if we lose against Bournemouth, a decent team I know but still lower league I wouldn't be bothered if he went

There must be a massive glut of managers that are available right now who have a proven track record that will guarantee improvement for the club for such a statement.

I cant think of many managers right now, with the way the club is run, who could come in and guarantee progress.

I didn't watch the game today, and am neutral but how would liverpool fans take to the idea of the type of job Tony Pulis did at stoke? Make them very tough to beat first and then work on the goal scoring? It's the type of thing mourinho did last season at one point wasn't it? Ditch the flair for the scrappy 1-0's and then take it from there.

I watch football to be entertained, I don't want to see scrappy 1-0s week in week out. I'm happy enough and sensible enough to know that scrappy results are part of the game and every team will have them but even with our ugly wins this year I've struggled to get enthusiastic about them. The way the team is playing at the moment (I was working so didn't see today's game) is woeful but I would only be marginally happier if we won playing the way we are. I would accept grinding out results short term but, and I know this is a reductive view of Pulis, I would hate us to turn into a punt-it-up-the-pitch, route one team. If we play well, creating an exciting match and get beaten by a better team then fair enough

Maybe Rodgers should read the internet and then he'll know what to do.

Is this not a forum? Shouldn't we discuss stuff and write our opinions down to contribute?

Or how about we all just post a couple lines of sarcastic comment because that helps with discussion, doesn't it?

January transfer window I want to see us bring Origi to Anfield & buy another striker/keeper.

We need a new defensive coach because whoever we have now is useless & we can't afford any more defenders so we need to do the best with the ones we have.

Hopefully we can get a good run together & scrape into the top four.

There is a manager out there that has already shown he can build a side capable of competing with the elite clubs without having to spend like them and, better than that, he has showed it for Liverpool. The media had people believing he was holding us back but his time at the club now looks like a golden era in comparison to what has followed. His contract is up at the end of the season and he allegedly intends to return to Merseyside.
