Good point maybe swap Can out for Lucas to provide a backup for the defence.

It's easy being Forum Manager but I really do hope BR takes a step back & takes a fresh look at the team. He needs to make some changes to turn this season around & if that means leaving Gerrard out or making Lovren sit on the bench for a while so be it.

I think he had his chance with the 2 week international break. We've resumed as bad as ever with the same issues not addressed. The manager that would have to one day face up to the Gerrard question always was going to have make a hard choice. BR has not, so far, had the balls to make the right decision. Sad to see but he's in trouble.

Rumours are rumours. I don't want to see Rodgers lose hos job especially as he did so well last season.

As someone already said I do wish that he takes a step back and looks at things through fresh eyes. Everyone can see that one up front has never worked for us and that on current form Gerrard, Skrtel, Johnson and Lovren do not warrant a place in the team.

It must be tough for a lot of the younger players we have bought in. We can't expect them to drag the team out of the mire. The senior players must step up.

Its all well and good saying Lovren and Skrtel dont deserve places in the team but who are the replacements waiting to come into the team? Sakho has proven he is just as crap and Toure looked ok for one game this season but has been mostly crap for the rest of the time he has been at the club.

I do agree with the sentiment that the defenders at the club aren't the best but at the same time there has to be something in the fact that the midfield just isn't helping when it comes to defending.

All this talk of Rodgers' job being under threat is stupid, the manager mounted the best title challenge in a generation and has had to contend with losing one of the best players in the world whilst also another large number of goals out of the team through Sturridge's injury.

There clearly need to be wholesale changes throughout the team but I think Rodgers has easily bought himself this season and another on top before he is questioned. Get Origi into the squad and Sturridge back, let the squad settle down and then see where the club is after the transition.

The squad was terribly thin last season and the majority of the signings have been younger players who will hopefully blossom into something much better than the current showing.

Lallana and, to a lesser extent, Can need to feature more. Lallana has looked the most eager of all the players and Can has looked decent when he's had the chance.

I'd go for a 4-2-1-3 sort of thing. With Can and Gerrard (if we have to play him) as two DMFs. Having Can there too will make up for some of Gerrard's shortcomings and perhaps free him up a bit. Coutinho as the 1 AMF and then a front 3 of Sterling, Balo/bori/studge and Lallana.

No Hendo? :-/

Serves us right, taking off our biggest threat for another left back and then pissing around trying to waste time at their flag at the 84th minute. Embarrassing.

Mignolet's positioning, Johnson's marking and Joe Allen doing fuck all at the post. Shocking, but again predictable.

I don't even know where to start, other than well done to Ludogorets for showing the kind of fight and determination that we've been lacking all season.

I suppose it doesn't change anything, we still need to beat Basel, but we don't deserve to go through, we'd be a blot on the knockout stages with the way we're playing.

Don't worry, there's no chance of us beating Basel.
