Why did Reina leave? I never understood that entirely. Did he fall out with Rafa like Alonso?

(Not trolling)

Do you know what, I thought I had a definite answer to that but, on thinking a bit more about it, I actually don't know. I think his long run of poor form coincided with Rodgers coming in and wasn't he homesick? I know he then moved to Italy and now Germany, but I'm sure I read that somewhere. Plus, I just don't think Rodgers rated him.

He was openly courting Barcelona and when they didn't move for him he went on Napoli to loan, writing a letter to the Liverpool fans thanking them for the years and complaining about how he was frozen out by Rodgers and not even informed of his impending move. This summer it was all very strange because he was requesting a chance to play at the club again, I think, but his letter was clearly a goodbye to the fans.

Of course, he was also on big money and the club have been cost cutting for a while now. Essentially only Johnson and Gerrard are on a big basic wage.

It was right for him to move on but sadly Mignolet just hasn't been good enough.

Meh just the press drumming up a non story. I think 99% of people would be pissed off the confront the person in that situation.

Regarding this season so far its been disappointing that the defence hasn't improved, neither has Mignolet and that the new signings are taking their time to bed in. If you took away Suarez and Sturridge last season I doubt the results would be much better. It is just that now confidence seems to be low. We just have to hope that Sturridge returns soon and that Balotelli starts to improve.

It's all been rather lacking goal threat, really, and I don't think Hull have been put under anywhere near enough pressure.

I'm not sure I'd agree that Balotelli has looked particularly great, either. He just doesn't seem to want to really work and there have been plenty of examples in that half where he could have done more to win the ball or to move for a pass.

Needs a much better second half from everybody, else I can see Hull nicking it.

He's just not really interested in getting involved, or indeed anything other than a chance laid on a plate. I find this trait less objectionable in strikers that are likely to convert them.

Hull have been alright, we haven't, and they'll probably nick a 1-0.

I didn't say he was particularly great, just that he has performed better than I've seen before. Not a high water mark really, definitely think he is more positive than normal and seems to be looking to pass a bit more.

Fair enough, but I disagree that he's been more positive too - he looks just as disinterested as usual.

Another hugely frustrating game where our lack of potency up front has cost us. In the first half we were just too slow - and I know some people rate Joe Allen and say he controls the tempo, but I think he takes too many touches and takes the sting out of attacks. I'm not sure both him and Can work together, either.

Second half we had a bit more urgency, but in truth never really tested the keeper. We looked much better with Phil on the pitch and he was our best player in his little cameo, but I know in order to accommodate Lallana, Phil misses out. I expect Phil might get a start (along with Lambert, Markovic, maybe Borini) on Tuesday against Swansea.

Much will continue to be written about Balotelli, but the indisputable facts are that he has been wretched overall in his 11 games so far. Maybe he'll come good (I hope he does) but so far it's been a terrible panic-buy and we're suffering for it. Sturridge can't come back soon enough.

I suppose a clean sheet - based mainly on the fact that Hull weren't too interested in attacking - is a pretty sad positive to take from the game, but that's about all I can right now.

I'd generally agree with this but think that apart from phil coming on, Lambert's ability to hold onto the ball and bring other players into the game close to the opposition box had a big impact as well.

If Hull had managed to maintian some of the pressure that they were applying in the 1st 15 minutes they probabbly could have gotten a win yesterday.

Started brightly (Phil has been excellent), lots of possession, not many shots on target. Swansea coming into it late in the half.

Lambert hasn't had much to work with, the commentator seems to think Markovic has been good, but I haven't really seen much from him. Hard to see where a goal will come from if it isn't from Phil, really.

Henderson looking decent in the role he has been asked to play. Will Rodgers have the balls to drop Gerrard and play Henderson there whilst Gerrard's form is as poor as it has been recently?

So far this game has been ok, lots of possession but no real cutting edge. Must admit I have no clue what the commentator is thinking with regards Markovic, he hasn't done much of anything really.

It's one of those games which is set up for us to be hit with a sucker punch if we don't score in the next 10-15 minutes. Like I say, Lambert's had nothing to work with and I just don't think Borini is very good. It's not as if bringing Balotelli and/or Lallana on would add any goal threat either, based on the season so far.

No chance.

Liverpool have looked OK so far but like Saturday there's a lack of cutting edge to create clear goalscoring opportunities . The US commentator on my stream is making the game seem a lot more exciting than it is, especially when the ball gets to the edge of the six

I think all the streams are running the same broadcast (I tried a few to try and find a better bit-rate).

But yeah, he's making it sound much better than it is. In truth, it's some good play around the middle, let down by the final pass (which has been pretty poor.) Swansea don't really look massively troubled, really.
