But you said him being suspended would be a positive, when he just played well in his first game of the season. Like I said, I'd rather he had gone in the summer but if it turns out he'll be useful for us, that's great we still have him. None of our centre backs have done enough to justify a permanent place as yet.

Fucking Sakho has!

Couple of interesting tweets from @tariqpanja

Back from New York where I learned that Colonel Gaddafi's family expressed interest in LFC at height of Hicks/Gillett crisis. #fit&proper

Perhaps more bizarre than thought of Gadaffi family owning LFC is detail in 2010 leaked US cables showing Burmese junta considering MUFC bid

Not IMO as yet. He's looked better than Lovren admittedly, but for me it's still up in the air what our best partnership is, which is our main problem.

The derby should be interesting as neither team are in form but either could suddenly go on a run. I'm expecting a 2-2, with red cards.

I feel somehow responsible for your neg. Sorry.

This is the first football match I've watched in years apart from QPR vs man utd. I am totally confused. Who are these players? I know Gerrard and mcgeady. I'm cheering for mcgeady unless someone can let me know if Liverpool have any Irish players. Thanks in advance.

Think Brendan got the last sub wrong, there. Balotelli was holding the ball up well and Lallana was tearing around the pitch leaving his fullback exposed. Lambert dropped in to fill in for him and they get a cheap play down that side. Although you can't complain about the quality of the finish in what was a pretty low risk chance to concede, it was too easy for them to work the channel in the build up. Frustrating.

You could see the problem having Balotelli alone upfront causes in the 70th minute. Once he's in the box there's very little movement from him, the defence then gets itself setup and all the Liverpool midfield can do is pass it across the field trying to draw Everton out.

My stream was terrible and I only saw the second half - how were we in the first half? Another disappointing result, did we look like scoring from open play? We've completely lost our teeth in the final third of late and whilst Sturridge will help a lot with that, we need Balotelli to have more of an influence. And score, of course.

My cousin can get me a VIP ticket to the Real game (in Madrid) and if we were playing like last season I'd be all over it. But the prospect of paying about £500 for 1 night to see us playing as we are at the moment isn't a particularly enticing prospect (though it would be a fabulous experience overall. Hmm, I'm talking myself into it...)

Thought Coutino brought a lot more sharpness to Liverpool's play when the was on the pitch , started looking a lot brighter and more intelligent in the buildups.Reasonable defensive performance the goal aside , less risk taking , both centre backs hoofed it into row Z on appropriate occasions instead of playing riskier balls which we've sen in the past.

I thought we showed a bit of improvement today, a lot less of the static Lovren to Gerrard to Lovren to Skretl to Gerrard to Lovren passing at least we had a lot more opportunities and shots on target, as weak or as straight down the middle as most of them were. Markovic was utterly anonymous as was Gerrard until the goal, after that he showed a few decent passes but still barely saw him. I'm not really sure what I thought of Balotelli, he seems to show determination and interest in the game for five minutes at a time and then just stands still and mopes about for extended periods.

Better but still not great.

Man U will go ahead of us with a win today too.

After 6 games gone I think there is a lot more to worry about than league positions.

Today the defence did very well I think, Moreno was struggling to contain Lukaku due to this strength but did very well throughout the game. Everton looked unlikely for almost the entire game and the biggest negative for the game was Liverpool's retreating deeper and deeper from about the 75th minute onwards.

Balotelli needs more patience and to get his head up but improvement game on game means I'm not too concerned for the long term right now, if he keeps on improving he'll do a decent enough job for the club.

The game was a big improvement on recent performances defensively and yet again Henderson is looking to become a top midfielder.

I should have expanded but what I meant was how we're all having a good little laugh at them but they're ahead of us after Tha same amount of game. We've been just as shocking as them.

Unless we go on an unbeaten run the league title is lost and top 4 is now the priority. I can't see us making the points up to catch Chelsea.
