Fucking England. Fucking Roy.

Brendan isn't happy with them either. Makes sense considering we had Sterling (and still do) running his socks off the whole season. He'll probably be next :(

You'd have thought that the England set up would manage a player's fitness based upon the club's advice. Common sense really. It's odd that it doesn't happen. The result is that players miss games for club and country.

This is the fourth injury that Sturridge has picked up during international duty whilst playing for Liverpool. Not a coincidence. I'd be unhappy too if I was Rodgers.

i was at one game against Villa the season before that and we won, christmas time I don't think I've ever felt colder at a football match

Is that the one where Babel and Ngog played up front and we won 3-0? I got a chest infection cos of how cold it was that night.

Yeah 3-0, Houllier was manager for Villa

Just looking at that squad now, it had Konchesky, Kyrgiakos & Ngog in the team with Cole, Jovanovic & Poulsen on the bench! Grim

I read in the paper this morning that Sturridge is now out for 6 weeks? Is that right?

In a way it's good, because it allows Mario the opportunity to settle into the team without having to compete with Sturridge (something that happened at the start with Suarez), but obviously it's a blow to lose a good player for a period. Guess it might let Lambert get some more minutes, too.

BB, before Balotelli - we lacked a second front man who would drag centre back wne deeper lying midielders around to leave space for Sterling. Only playing one up was a tactical error by BR.

Now Sterling is too knackered to play due to being the best English player we've got. And Hodhdggson, who I already noted was a dinosaur last week, doesn't seemingly know how to look after players.

That's the man in charge. And it means we are without two of our best players.

You can bet the Germans wouldnt be so foolish.

It's do good we got rid of Roy when we did. He's just not capable.

That was all down to Sakho letting the ball bounce... isn't that one of the first things they teach you about defending?

Coutinho's been off the pace all season, don't know if we'd do better just subbing him off for Lambert/Sterling and switching to the diamond. Whatever we do, we need far more pace in our passing in the second half.

It's been really, really poor. Created nothing all game and Villa have looked more dangerous, our defence looks vulnerable all across the back. I appreciate that is a new back line, but they don't look great as a unit - I shudder at what Arsenal/Man U/Chelsea's attacks could do to it, especially away from home.
