I saw this and had a bit of a giggle, when you see the price then it is prolly worth the risk - will be entertaining no matter what and he was the only player i liked at Man City!

He scored 30 goals in 54 for Milan.

Lamela was 20+ in similar for Roma, big advantage for Mario is having prem league experience.

At £16m he's worth the risk. And if it fails I'm sure Liverpool can offload him to West Ham and get most of their money back.

If he fails, Sunderland will help us turn a profit. If he succeeds he'll go to Spain for mega money.

Win / Win

I'm very excited about this.

Always been a fan of him but it is quite a risk. He can be brilliant and create chances from nothing. But then again he can lose it and get himself into trouble... Will be like having Suarez still.

Ha, we lose one mental and replace him with another! Could end up being a stroke of genius or a disaster but I can't wait to find out. £16m for a player of his quality is peanuts in a world where Shane Long is worth £12m

Only if you totally ignore the huge wages. Which you shouldn't.

Good signing mind. Much like one of his indoor/outdoor fireworks, it's either gonna be a sight to behold or someone will lose an eye.

He's reportedly in hospital today, back on the sauce :(

Jeez, there's a picture floating around at the moment, he looks destroyed. 47 years old, too.

I think the most surprising news today will be if we didn't sign Mario. He's gone from Milan, that's it now surely?

Apparently it's a done deal then, around 80-100k a week with add ons, £165 fee.

Can't be confirmed until Tuesday because the premiership doesn't work on the weekend!

If you'd said to me a week ago, should we sign him, I'd of said no, but having time to get my head around it, I reckon he's gonna be brilliant and will certainly spice up the season!

At City, the coaches recall how they would give him DVDs to swot up on the opposition then realise he was watching Laurel and Hardy movies instead. They remember him being fascinated with the sliding doors at their training ground and driving slowly towards the entrance in his camouflage sports car, mounting the kerb to see how close he could get before the glass swung open.

Apparently, 48 hours until he signs on the dotted line and the fun begins...
