Keep Elliot left, he’s usually a passenger in midfield. Take Gakpo off and straight to John Lennon airport. Within 30 days of buying him we can still get our money back!

I haven't watched this game, and only snippets of the FA Cup games, but I've struggled to see what he supposedly offers the team? I said at the time I wondered if he was a board, rather than Klopp, signing.

Anyway, this has been bad again, huh?

Rubbish half. Everything going into spaces rather than players. Not working the keeper or even the defence. The only plus is that we looked to be getting better as the half went on. But Chelsea's steadfast refusal to remain vertical is extremely annoying.

That's harsh, he's come into a side that is a shell of it's former self and he is trying to be fair, more than what could be said of Salah right now.

Kieta is just a broken player these days and just never got going.

Elliott, Bajetic, Thiago and Robertson (as well as Allisson) are the only ones to come out of that half with any credit.

By the time that happens they won't need to - we'll all have 24/7 VR holograms beamed direct into our cyberbrains.

Sooner than us then!

Just now, Oh Danny Boy said:

Things picked up once Nunez came on. Salah though… just seems a shadow of his former self, once Jota, Firmino and Diaz return a prolonged period on the sidelines is needed.

Should be playing Doak ahead of Salah tbh.

The side just looks really disjointed and lacking intensity at the minute. Anything higher than eighth would be very surprising given the form of sides above us.

Maybe a cup run can paper over the cracks but expect the next few months will just be a bit of a shuffle and stumble into the post-season, where everyone in the squad can forget about football for a month.

Missed the game today, first I've missed for a good while and I'm not sure I'll bother to catch up with what I missed either.

It‘s a game where an editor will be struggling to fill three minutes of highlights.

Brighton next in the cup and struggling to make a case for anything other than another humbling on the south coast.

Rhy Williams returns from Blackpool with the expectation that Phillips will be hawked around potential clubs.

That suggests the funds to rebuild the ageing squad won't be forthcoming any time soon.

It was good fun whilst it lasted.

Bajcetic signs new contract until 2027.... thats good but not quite what was hoping for regarding signing new midfielder in January.

That's our lot in terms of signings until Mbappe 2024.

His form and promise will now drop off a cliff or he will become injury prone such is our luck.

:(

I see Leeds are apparently close to getting Weston McKennie from Juve. Sure he'd have been a decent option for us. But no, from all the players Juventus have it's bloody Arthur Melo we got landed with

Old fishermen will speak about Melo in 40 years, “aye, I remember Melo, he was an enigmatic beast, only appearing every fourth full moon, and then he was gone, like dust on the wind”
