The Crew - PS4/Xbox One/PC

To my tired old eyes they look the same.

Have you tried the video on the previous page here? There was quite a difference, even with YT compression. Having said that, it was always a good looking game in places, almost certainly let down by legacy support.

All they have to do is add showrooms, mansions and shoe shops dotted around America. Stick a Casino in Vegas, sprinkle a few race tracks around and take out the characters. Have the economy based around Smokey and the Bandit bets from Big & Little Enus. Car delivery missions for rich people and an app based taxi service. Throw in whacky passengers ala Driver SF. Bingo Testdrive USA instead of barrel scraping Fast & Furious crap.

Gnnnn, better, but I can wait. £12 is the sweet spot.

Amazon only do a disc (full) version over here, it's not on the US PS store, and CDkeys.com only have the PC version.

Are yanks supposed to get this via disc only? Daft. I mean, it's $39, but I don't want to have to buy the main game again.

I tried to play this last night, because I'd spent some time in driveclub, and wanted to compare and contrast:

pissflaps!

6.5GB, 3 hrs... Always-connected gaming ladies and gentlemen.

aren't there auto-updates so it just picks up patches when they appear?

I thought this sort of shit died out lastgen

PS4 standby downloads are... a mixed bag.

'sides, I can't remember the last time I'd played this, so this might be the cumalative version of all the auto-updates, and not the wild run graphical overhaul.

No, it's all Wild Run. I've kept the game up to date, and also had a 6gig patch. What pissed me off is that it should have only taken an hour or so to download, so I set it going after I got home from work and put it in rest mode. Come back to it at 8pm to play and it's only done half with 3 hours remaining, and is trickling down at 1meg (I get about 20meg). Reboot sees it flying along as normal, 30 minutes left.

Played Driveclub for a while, go back and see it's trickling down again. Does playing a game (and perhaps the 15 minute auto DVR thing) affect download rates? Can't say I've noticed that before. Anyway, shutting down DC, pausing and resuming the download, and it rifled the rest down in 20 minutes.

Only had a quick play, but it looks decent, if not DC. Obviously I wasn't expecting DC. You get a new story mission to test out the various "extreme" cars, which means running an assault course in a monster truck, doing some drag races on the salt flats, and putting a GT86 sideways in drift mode. The kids will like monster trucks (purely on the basis that they can hold accelerate and just stomp over any scenery), drag racing is a bit fiddly, and drifting was twitchy, although the track was soaked so perhaps that made it worse.

Oh, and there's factions now. You start off being able to select either the Midwest or West Coast faction, and it proceeded to tell me the nicknames of each. Of course, I went to select Midwest but it only gave me the nicknames, without telling me which was bloody which. Can't see where to join a faction now I've skipped it. Doh.

I found ps4 updates ok but if I hadn't played the game in a while it wouldn't auto update, like it was saving me bandwidth for games I don't play.

That looks pretty decent, particularly the NYC shot.

As an aside, can I remove all the upgrades to my Camaro, which is getting a bit boring, and strap them on to a Skyline? I don't fancy leveling up a new car from scratch. Also, how do the fancy cars like the McLaren work? Is their base rating just higher than these other cars?

so If you already own the game you get a free graphical overhaul and you can pay £25 for the expansion to give you bikes monster trucks draggsters etc 100+ new events.

if you never owned the game you can buy it for 39.99 inc all the stuff AND including the previous DLC? i.e. is the season pass included in new edition?

If so that is a cracking "goty" type re-release with new content and improvements.

Alternatively if you own it already it depends on the quality of the extra content (the graphic overhaul is a nice bonus). People will pay £16 for bikes so £25 for that plus a bunch of other vehicles and new events seems not bad.

No demo though and my racing game at the mo is Forza/Horizon

Just to confuse matters even further, there is a complete edition available which includes the season pass content. Crazy stuff.

At the moment I have only seen the complete edition on PSN store (for more information see the EU Blog store update for this week) and at GAME (code for PC download), I've yet to see it at retail.

If anyone has seen the complete edition for PS4 on disc then please point me in the right direction. :)

So I've been playing this pretty much all week, that this was timed with Wild Run was a complete coincidence. I think I've seen enough to give this fair crack, having barely played it to this point. Likely the expansion too, because the bike handling is *fun*.

The graphical update is decent. Don't expect Driveclub, but I'm wondering if it's the Watch_dog engine, as there can be a fair bit of detail in the environment. Enough to convince you you're where you're at as you thunder along, if that makes sense. It certainly adds to those very occasionally wow moments that this engine manages. Horrible aliasing at times.

With the patch, they gave me 100k of the blue (real $) money, and there's a 30% sale on for the next 5 days, so I blew it on an Aventador. It's so much more fun to drive than the Camaro I've been stuck in until now it's almost comical. I'm down in Miami and just got the performance spec. It's fast enough that I blasted through two random skill challenges by just holding the accelerator, which will add +50 perf to the car when I'm level 27. So, don't worry about saving parts early on, you'll naturally accrue replacements hand over fist later.

Buy it.

If only for the mini-scale recreation of the US.

First time back in and I drove from Miami to NYC

12246724_10153041317981486_7268433475604

and spent the night after that enjoying New England. (cape cod and so on)

Gotta unlock ALL the map!
