Four teams would be necessary, reckon we could get 40 if this is advertised a bit.

Like I said in the other thread, my only fear would be dilution of the Thursday league. I'm definitely in though.

Early suggestions/thoughts: no goalkeepers, no players under 5'8" or even 5'9".

I assume 5'6" with an 18 inch Afro is fine though, aye?

I think we should at least trial keepers, from what I've seen we're all pretty terrible at it and it would be a good place to test it out. Not fussed about limits on heights. We face midgets and giants all the time, makes no difference we always get beat.

Some good numbers so far.

I wanna get the outline of the competition thrashed out first, and then can open up the sign up thread.

To get the ball rolling then, here is the first draft:

* 4 teams of (up to) 10.

* Draft picking at start of each season

* No injury or suspension recording

* Simple results posted in central thread on night of matches

* Single admin to update table weekly

* No pro restrictions

* Must be an 'any'

* Keepers permitted for 1st week to see how it goes. Decision on inclusion after that point to be made post-games.

* Sunday evening games. Start time tbc (is 10 still ok, or will an earlier start time be preferable?)

* Two matches, home and away.

* Season lasts for 6 weeks.

So feel free to start picking over that lot and hopefully we'll come up with a decent setup we can work with.

Sound about right, but i think keepers would probably lean me towards not bothering, maybe have the first week as an athletic cup delio to trial a few things.

Edit: i think there will be an issue with pros being able to be changed at any time, massive team one week and tiny team the next. IMO we should not be able to change once the season kicks off. Maybe each player submits certain details about their players.

maybe it doesnt, thinking about it i don't really have a preference either way, but i think it should be decided one way or the other, could we change between game 1 and 2 to counter certain threats, could be interesting.

I'm still very wary of goalkeepers. We've come up against very highly rated ones and had games where 15+ shots just aren't going in, and he only seems beatable with a square ball and tap-in.

Could potentially ruin the balance if one or two teams have superkeepers and the others don't.

Appreciate it's a one game tryout, although one concern would be that those tryouts are for 75 rated goalkeepers, which won't be anything like as good as the eventual 85 ones.

Isn't the problem with superkeepers that those players are playing with fully assisted controls? So you just hold a button and the game makes all the saves for you rather than the skill of the player controlling the keeper.

We could say keepers have to use manual controls. Or did they fix that already?

I think the novelty of keepers would wear off prettly quickly anyway.

I think it's way harsh to remove the keepers! We've gotta try them at least? From what I've seen in clubs on FIFA 13, most people are bloody awful, and even the better ones are just OK. Btw Outsider, keepers can't use 'assisted' save controls in FIFA 13 - EA removed the option after all the superkeepers from FIFA 12 - semi or manual controls are only allowed now. That's why keepers in FIFA 12 were so impossible to play against, and why FIFA 13 keepers are nowhere near as bad.

Let's try keepers at least, I'd like to give it a bash playing there and bet a few others might too.
