Touché but I've got to make the most of what I can.

You probably should have countered with something PS4 related though.

Why?

I'm actually not over enthusiastic with what I saw, I'm more of a Battlefield FPS'er than a COD/MW now. Although I did enjoy MW2 to be fair but I think I'm past the twitch shooters now. If I do get it I'll get on PC though due to M+K being the preferred method of playing a competitive FPS and it being cheaper.

Also, when was the last time a third party 'exclusive' was anything other than timed? Genuine question.

Plenty of Japanese HD games are still exclusive to the PS3, the last Western game from a major pub? can't recall any, but the X360 certainly got defacto console exclusives from Euro PC devs who can't be arsed/too much trouble to learn the PS3, The Witcher 2 is an X360 exclusive for example.

The Witcher 2 sort of was a timed exclusive - it was originally out on the PC, eventually came to the 360 late in the consoles life cycle and now the sequel is multiplatform from day one. I don't think there was enough time between releasing the Witcher 2 on the 360 and working on Witcher 3 to release it on the PS3. It took them over a year I think after announcing the game to release it on the 360, it just wouldn't have been feasible or realistic to release it on the PS3 as well.

They originally had another game announced for PS3/X360, called The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf, but they canned it.

Anyway, plenty of other Euro PC dev games which are X360 console exclusives if you dig around a bit, like the one by Bohemia Interactive, or the Alarm for Cobra games by that German PC dev.

Does it? Vanquish was single-player to the core; if it was a stick of Blackpool rock, it'd have "single player" written right the way through it, only you realise it's not a stick of rock, it's a cigarette and you're fighting robots in slow motion in a 1960s SF paperback cover and also it's the best game ever.

Excellent.

You guys really owe it to yourself to check out the 60 fps gamersyde video (someone linked to it earlier)

It just looks like so much fun- the pilot/titan dynamic looks great as long as they keep up the balance. If it wasn't coming out on PC, it is the one game that could actually tempt me towards a xbox one if they ever discounted the hardware.

Fucking hell that looks brilliant. enormously fun. I'd get back into online gaming for a bit of that action.

It does indeed look incredible! Maybe it's just me but it does seem like a futuristic evolution of MW2, what I'd expect from the Respawn guys.

Now I just need a gaming rig... or... a....

That does look spectacular, but I'm afraid that Modern Warfare game speed + wall-running + jet-packs + giant robots that can run as fast as Usain Bolt will equal sensory overload. I mean, it's incredibly exciting, but I bet it's very carefully stage managed too; with all that going on in a game with 64 players, it must be complete mindfuck. It's bad enough in MW2 and Black Ops where you basically only playing in two dimensions, god knows how people keep track of it when you've got people Gun Valkyrie-ing their way between the rooftops above you.

That bit where the pilot ejects though, fuuuuuuuuuuck.

Looks like tons of fun. They've added individual rumble motors in each grip of the new Xbox pad, right? I wonder if they've incorporated that to give you feed back as you strafe jump between buildings etc, would be a nice touch.

Good grief that looks absolutely incredible. Cannot wait to play with some of you lot :)

So, how does the 'story' work? Is the whole game is like this never-ending set of missions or is there an 'end'? If so, what happens to the losing team in that trailer in their story? Or do they just have to 'retry' against a different team in another match?
