As for Ignashevich and his roaming exploits, I see a massive gap in the centre of our pitch when we go up front and that needs to be filled. Picking up the scraps or taking a potshot is an absolute must because we were under pressure from a break almost everytime we lost the ball when attacking. We had the same problem at Athletic last season, if I don't pick it up, someone else will have to.

Another night of being the better team in both games but sadly not the full 6 points to show for it. When they equalised in the first game, we seemed to just keel over and take it. The penalty at the end was conceded by me by the way, saved the video and it's another one for the broken decision books. Second game we imposed our dominance and were deserved winners.

You say dominated, I still think we struggle to make an impact up front. Other teams seem to be able cross the ball a lot more or have more options whereas we end up with either no one in the box or just two up front and isolated.

Anyway nice to get a win in the second game, maybe a draw in the first might have been fairer but can't really complain about losing.

The main point was that Pants goal was amazing and it wasn't from passing the ball down the line. In fact I think I got the assist which pretty much makes it my goal.

I tend to agree with Funtime, we held the ball too long at times and our stikers/CAM's need to just stay up the park. Pants goal was amazing though.

Some small attacking tweaks to the formation tonight, nothing drastic, just moving the two wide CM's up and out a bit more as LW/RW's, as I agree, they were a bit too deep.

Also, we're shifting a couple of people around. It's about time Gerry was unleashed up front after playing the entire season at RWB and RB, the poor fucker. He was on fire the other night in clubs! Smith is being unleashed also, and Heretic is coming home. Trev/Pants, get down those wings. Nathan: it will be easier for me to control two players next to each other over on the left, so if you can go RB tonight, that would be really helpful. We'll move you back out next week. So:

Played last night chaps, apologies for my issues in the first. Internet was working perfect so must have been some conflict somewhere. Second game we should have put the game to bed in the first half but at least we came out with three points.
