Nathan For You

Surely the judge had to be in on it.

What an amazing episode. I love the way Nathan transitions from one moment to the next. I'm sure there is some hidden depth in the episode of how blinded people get and forget about logic when faced with a second of fame. It was just lost in so much hilarity. I love how in the credits for his film there is just a list of all the customer names.

"Wait you're actually charging it to my card?"

"Your breaking character"

"What are you upto Mr Gates?"

I was a bit worried after the first episode but the second one reminded me of how well written this show can be. One of the most creative comedies out there right now. Such a genius episode that naturally evolved from one genius moment to the next. So so good.

Just watched the Dumb Starbucks episode, so so good. I loved the interaction with the Lawyer and the dating employees stuff.

I do get that Ali G/Borat vibe from this show though, you get the impression the Producers set everything up and get people to sign wavers and then he just comes in and kind of hijacks these poor people, which is kind of dick move. Having said that his delivery and the writing are so good, it kind of makes up for that.

I have to thank this thread for putting me on to this show. I've probably rinsed it too much since starting 2 weeks ago but there are few programmes which make me cry laughing like Nathan has. Early on I thought they were all actors but since Santa and the security card have returned I'm going to have to watch the earlier episodes again in a totally different light. Or am I being tricked again? Not that it matters, it's the show I've laughed most at in a long while.

He was on the Comedy Bang Bang podcast about a month ago too, which is well worth a listen. I love his persona going up against other comedians doing whatever character they've decided to do. That week it was disgraced American Apparel owner Dov Charney and a duck who had been turned into a man by a magic talisman. A great episode, as you can imagine.

He said on nerdist it's not faked. They just tell participants they're going to be on TV but provide very few details on what the show is. They don't tell them its a comedy. He said the majority of people will do almost anything with that tiny amount of info.
