Couldn't resist so bought:

Left 4 Dead 2 (will buy the DLC eventually)

MGS 2+3

MGS Peacewalker

Resi Evil CV

King Of Fighters XIII

Super Streetfighter IV AE

Mortal Kombat vs DCU

Will be nice just having them on the harddrive, part of the reason I picked them up :)

For those wanting to play through max payne, it's worth knowing that there are 3 content packs totalling about 5gb that you need to download. I wish I'd have known that - I just finished a level and it told me I needed a content pack to continue!

Is Dark Elements of Might and Magic worth £2.69? Ditto Rainbow Six Vegas (single-player only)?

Also, I'm mighty-tempted by Civ Rev, even though I've never played a Civ game. Is it any good? I think I read that it's a cut-down version so that a whole game can be completed in about 4 hours, is that right?

Huh?

What do these content packs include?

I should say that they don't cost anything, I'm just not sure why they aren't in the main game download. Size restrictions, maybe? They include the main game content - there's only a couple of hours of the single player before you require a download.

Bloody hell, the download itself was 7gb. Any way I can set these downloads up before starting the game?

Yup. If you boot the game up and choose the marketplace link, there's a special section for Content Packs.

Is this sale done?

Prices are still sale prices on the website for me.

MP3 says £4.49 but when I go to buy it changes to £24.99. :seanr:

The XBOX website is such a mess! It keeps switching the price and changing between pounds and dollars!

Finally got to the option where I could buy it for £4.49 (I had to keep manually changing the US in the address bar to GB!) and then

Sorry

Your purchase cannot be completed at this time. Please try again.

Edit: It just worked, I bought it through the Xbox website. £4.49, what a deal!

Edit: WTF IT'S CHARGED MY CARD £24.99 EVEN THOUGH IT SAID CONFIRM £4.49

If by 4 hours you mean 25 minutes, yes :)

It's really good.

What do you get?

A few more cars. No new tracks. A few events. Compared to £2.69, it's a right rip off

I hope MS do this again. I bought four games for £2.69 that I wouldn't have bought so it obviously worked from a marketing/sales perspective. Next time though (if it happens), they need to push it more on the dash. I liked the one day only aspect too as it made me feel'like I was getting a special, crafty bargain - crafty.

They should really do this monthly in an attempt to compete with PS+ (although those are free, I know this*) I'd definitely buy more at that price, especially for a few of those games where it is genuinely useful to have them there permanently.

I still think it's a bit of a shame you have to have the CD in the tray for verification when you install to HDD, I understand why you can't, it's just a bit of a shame. I love the fact I can now play quite a few 'full' games just straight from the guide button - although the pins (which is quite a good idea on paper) is slightly self defeating as I still get the spinny symbol and a load (brief, admittedly) and I've only got three things pinned.

EDIT: * Apparently they aren't, I clearly don't know this.
