PlayStation 4 Console Thread

Well, I bit the bullet and stuck £50 on my PSN account. I want to spend it quick and unlink my PayPal account to minimise the (already very remote!) chance of the unthinkable happening and someone snaffling my PSN account and its now very real funds. But PayPal haven't credited me with the £10 yet. Now, I'm sure it takes more than half an hour for them to do this, maybe, er, but... let's face it. It's not going to happen at all, is it? I can feel it. I can feel the inevitability now. They're going to not put the tenner in there at all, and I'll end up contacting PayPal some time next week to remind them, and they'll say 'oh, ok!' and after another week they'll put the tenner in there, but they'll have done it by placing a chargeback on PSN, and then Sony will ban my account and keep all my money and games and PayPal will go 'lol', and then I'll have to engage a solicitor to deal with Sony which will add another few grand to the bill, and in the meantime I'll have to buy Destiny again on Xbox One (and an Xbox One), and after getting three characters to level 34 I'll have to rapidly cobble together a raid team from an XBL friends list of 10 people, none of whom actually plays Destiny, and it'll be impossible, and I'll quit. Fucking thanks, Bungie.

Or I might be overreacting. If anyone's done the PayPal deal before, how long did it take for your tenner to come through?

The Last Of Us: Remastered is on CDkeys for £7.99 at the moment, but is the US region version. Child of Light Deluxe Edition is £6.29, and is the UK region version, again on CDkeys.

Tempted by both those, even though I have TLOU on PS3. How would I go about nabbing it?

I have done this, you just make a US account and login to that to use the code you get off CDkeys, load it up once and from then on you can just play it via your normal account.

I have only ever logged into my US account once to add the game!

You'd be more than welcome over in Xbox land, Gorf. Then you'd never have to go through those obviously draining hypothetical situations again. No Bloodborne though, so there is a downside. Just thought I better mention that.

Glad you got it sorted, man. To be honest, I don't think I could have handled you on Xbox Live if your talking game is anything like your writing.

'But Gorf we need to...'

'Yeah, yeah, anyway, just the other day I was...'

Well, you get the idea! :D

Just wondering if anyone can show me to a good guide on how to access the American PSN store? I got a PS3 today but the EU store is missing games that I want to play.

Create a new user on the PS3 and give it a US PSN account using a spare email address and a fake US address (just Google one). Log in with account. You are now on the US Store.

Cool. Also found a video online going through it in steps. Didn't realise it was that easy.

Has anyone tried Deception IV yet? I remember having a lot of fun with one of the earlier Deception games on the PS1 but haven't kept up with the series. Worth picking up for £30?

Here's a Giant Bomb quick look

That looks amazing. I'll be all over that when it's a bit cheaper. It looks like a crazy Japanese version of Orcs Must Die.

I picked up the standard version on Vita last year, and really enjoyed what little I played, but the killer for me was the long chapters with no saving inbetween. Not sure if that's fixed or not but leaving the Vita on standby without being able to play anything else on it soon became a nuisance to me.

I'll probably pick this up when it goes cheap.

Gorf, out of interest how did you add the £50 credit to your account using Paypal? The online store (not using the PS4) keeps telling me my "credit card information is not valid. Please check your entries carefully", so cant add it using that.

Can you add £50 using paypal via the console, or will it not take advantage of the deal then?

Yeah, I got the same error, so had to use the PS4 to fund. Bear in mind that I fucked up by not 'saving' the offer first anyway, but I now assume it might not have worked by the PS4 route even if I had, as you haven't followed the voucher route to the purchase so probably wouldn't generate the redemption email. I didn't mention this error to PayPal CS because it was irrelevant in my case. It might be worth giving them a ring and pointing the error out - if they're as helpful as they were with me they might provide an alternative means of securing the offer.

Set up a US account on the console. Easy peasy. I think the population of Beverley Hills went up 400% when the PS3 came out in Europe.

I've mentioned it before but I actually initially put in the real address of my company's US office, just in case something interesting got posted there for me.

Sony said it was a fake address.

But 123 Fake Street, 90210. That was fine.

I can't do it via the site either :(

I have saved the offer though.

Just tried the same as you, and get the same message. "The credit card information is not valid. Please check your entries carefully." is a nonsensical error message as I'm not using a credit card and don't have any card details attached to my PSN account. Could it mean the card attached to PayPal?
