PlayStation 4 Console Thread

I do. Haven't tried to delete a character, although I assume, like other MMOs, it's server-side.

Anyone here actually used the game sharing thing? What does it look like when you initiate it? And is it straightforward to quickly disconnect the remote user?

I have shared a game with 2 people, one from here and other a mate - you hit the ps button to take back control. You can watch what they are doing, it even still vibrates your pad - freaked the cats out!

Is there a "hit PS button to take back control" prompt or something? Similar sort of functionality is pretty common on remote control PC applications.

Its a couple of presses, still could have done it quick enough to stop a character being deleted if the kid was int he room watching

Just tested remote play while I'm on holiday - my PS4 is in Fife, Scotland, and I'm currently in Perth, Australia. The audio and visual held up admirably, but the lag is just that tiny wee bit too high to make Shadows of Mordor playable.

So its basically taken half a world in the way to make remote play unusable.

Definitely. Hope I can complete Hotline Miami 2 before Hotline Miami 2 comes out though, and I might have to break my self imposed monthly game budget to buy Hotline Miami 2 as well.

After all that is the game we've all been waiting for, Hotline Miami 2.

Hotline Miami 2.

Have been offered an ( apparently 4 months old) PS4 with 5 games,

FIFA 15,Cod, Watch dogs,Battlefield, Gta V for £200, seems cheap enough but there was mention of it having issues with accepting discs and needing them to be put in a certain way.
Having not owned one before, is this a common problem and are Sony likely to sort it out ( if it is actually 4 months old and not 1yr 4 months old).
Anyway I can check how old it is etc and where the security seal is? As even if it is under warranty, they will do sod all with it if that has been removed.
Thanks :)

Not come across that, unless it's the super easy, 5 minute take off the faceplate and turn a screw fix that stops it randomly puking out discs. so if it is that one, buy buy buy. To be fair you could probably get £80-90 for the games and controller so for the sake of £100 I would risk it.

Thanks, had a quick look on ebay, and if it does have to get sold for scrap, I should recoup most if not all of my cash, so just waiting to hear back from him now on the address to collect at, looks like I will finally have the complete set of current gen consoles :)

Hello PS4 people. I've decided to get this over the Bone, once I'm done with the PS360 backlog. I have some questions though!

Is the PS4 region free for all retail disc stuff, or are some things locked? I'll probably buy a Hong Kong machine, if that makes any difference.

What's the machine like without a constant internet connection? I'm in China and occasionally get nothing out of PSN or Live for a few days, which is annoying but not too much of a problem with the PS3 and 360, as I can still play everything offline. Will this cause me any major grief on the PS4?

If an update download is interrupted can I restart from that point? (The PS3 never does this for me and my connection tends to be flakey, so sometimes takes a load of restarts before I can get the entire update in one go. Pretty frustrating.

Sorry if these are dumb questions. I'm kinda isolated from the whole console world here. The Xbone is actually out here now but not one shop in my city of almost a million people has even bothered to stock it, and the Chinese version is gimped anyway.

From my experience no. Although you can't play any digital games when PSN is down or you're offline for whatever reason.

Also you can't download games from the website on your machine, just the primary one. So you have to wait till you're home to kick it off.

Quick question about thumbsticks. I'm a little worried about wearing them down, so I bought some grip things from Game. They're pretty shit, frankly, and are basically useless. Are there any stick grips that are generally accepted as being pretty good?

I've used these, and thought they were very good. Comfortable and with a lot of grip: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Grip-It-Analog-Stick-Xbox-Xbox360/dp/B003NSLGW2

I also bought some of these and am using them at present. They're much cheaper, although you get two seperate types in the pack - the concave, 'non-dot' ones are great, but I've not tried the convex set: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thumb-Grips-4-Pack-PlayStation-controllers/dp/B00JTJCLI2/ref=sr_1_5?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1425340929&sr=1-5&keywords=ps4+stick+grips

IMO they are all shite, when the sticks go fit some Xbone sticks - really easy and nicer sticks IMO!
