What's the deal with this downloading in rest mode? Left mine this afternoon to update driveclub and get some of the PS+ stuff downloaded all of which was in the download queue (why does this not sort so that downloading stuff is at the top and finished stuff is at the bottom???) but I've just put it back on and it has done nothing - do I need to flick some setting or other?

edit : Just found the "set functions available in rest mode" - there's a "stay connected to the internet" box which was unticked so I'm guessing that was the issue?

Yeah. After the system update where Standby was changed to Rest, you should have been prompted to confirm the settings that are used in Rest.

I dont blame you Pockets, Sony are a terrible company to deal with and PSN is the worst online gaming service around so if there are no game that interest you then its a pretty easy decision to jump.

Is there a list of upcoming releases, hardline is the only thing i can think of i am interested in outside Hotline Miami 2 - when the fuck is that coming out!?!?

Each to their own, but can't get my head around anyone looking at this years release schedule (both PS4 and multi) and thinking that we have anything other than a potentially phenomenal gaming year ahead.

In all honesty I've only got 2 games on my radar for PS4 this year, Project Cars and Arkham Knight.

I'm sure there will be more at/by E3 of course.

It is a little damning though (and I just went and scanned Shopto's entire preorder section to check) that there's 3 games I want this year on XBone and they're all exclusives (albeit one a fake exclusive) and 2 I want on PS4 and neither is.

Mmm, I don't want to go making lists (Hotline 2, Bloodborne, Persona, No Man's Sky, Amplitude, The Witness, Rime etc) but as someone who doesn't own a PS3 (and so this will be the only way for me to get some of the multiplatform PS games) or Bone (so ditto for multiplatform current-gen releases) I have one or two things I'm looking forward to. :)

Having said that, I am glad I waited a year before buying the console as I imagine the first few months may have felt a bit slow.

In what will be a shock to no one i have an utter love / hate relationship with the ps4 - i don't really give a shit about higher res pc bore stuff but i did go ps4 over xbone due to the more power less kinect stuff....

Stuff like PS+ and indie games i love, i love the machine as a rule inc the pad (once modded and fixed) & the recording stuff but i hate that stuff on it still doesn't work properly this far from launch - PSN and voice chat being more up and down than a $10 hooker is not acceptable and the new firmware = new crashes for a week or so still isn't fun :(

When chat is working, PSN is up and i am in a squad of chums playing some BF4 recording 'battlefield moments' it is a cracking console!

If you don't have a vita or ps3 then there is loads of content but if you have those it is lacking and 2015 doesn't look like adding all that much to it, having a wii u and a ps4 is one hell of a combo!

True. But I look at it that I'll be able to play Persona 5 this year and I don't own a PS4.

I'd gladly take a bet that statement turns out to be false. Either Persona 5 doesn't make it out to the west on PS3, or the game will not arrive this year.

Not arriving this year: probably true for the west - it had been promoted as having a "Winter 2014" release in Japan so I'd like to hope they see it released at some point this year. As for the PS3 release, I think it could still happen; P4 was released on PS2 in all regions in 2008-9, long after people were already enjoying Xbox 360 and PS3.

I don't know if this is really the thread for this but I sold my PS4 today. I got £225 from CEX for it with the camera which I thought was okay. Here's where I'm stupid though, I still had a year of PS Plus. I planned to sit out the year and just pick up the plus games but then the price I would have got would probably be more than £40 less than I got today so whatever.

Obviously, I had all those issues with PSN fraud which certainly soured me on the console and made me feel funny about buying anything else from Sony. I suppose that played a big part but I didn't immediately think of selling it, it was the other day when talking to a friend who doesn't have much interest in modern gaming and he asked if anything was coming out soon on the PS4. Not really, I replied. There were a few titles I could have mentioned but none of them would have meant anything to him and I realised they don't really mean anything to me. Even now, I can only think of Bloodborne and No Man's Sky which both look like they might be good but aren't necessarily what I'd normally buy.

I'm not trying to piss on anyone's parade, the PS4 will have many great games over its lifespan and will only get better, it's just not for me anymore. I feel a weird sense of relief to be out of the loop. It's strangely stressful to own one of these consoles and keep up with all the news and issues and workarounds. I'll miss the football games I think but there's nothing else on the horizon that really grabs me. These are interesting consoles I think, the Bone and the PS4, I'll enjoy watching what happens with them but I'm glad I don't have to 'worry' about it anymore, which sounds ridiculous but you kind of do.

Completely agree and did the same thing just after Christmas. Been a gamer for a long time and well couldn't find any love for the machine or the games. Think the main problem I had with it is that everything was late I wanted to play on the thing. When it did arrive it was sub par. Sure it wild have a great library of games over its time and no doubt I'll pick one up again if the next Gran Turismo turns out to be absolutely unmissable.

I just went back to the PC and have a WiiU. Wii U has had more use in the two months I have owned it than the PS4 did in the year I owned that. In a strange turn of events ditching the PS4 has actually made me realise how good a machine the PS3 is. :D. Currently playing Gran Turismo 6 and its making me realise how much content in a game you got last gen versus this gen. So many expansions and events for free. Makes something like drive club feel like a complete rip off IMHO :D.

So think I'll just sit back and watch both the XBO and PS4 develop with interest and enjoy my old gen console a bit more. Anything of interest will make it to the PC.

To add if you have a PS3 just use your plus sub on that.

Shadow warrior looks a bit like Serious Sam, would that be right? Except I remember playing the original and I don't remember it being like that at all?

This remake/remaster does look decidedly low budget though from the videos.

Yeah project cars was one I was looking forward to also. However its also out on PC. It also supports my wheel on the PC. So is No Mans Sky too. Also the Grim Fandango remake.

Ouch.

Yeah. There's not even a Gran Turismo prologue equivalent to ease the pain. :D

Its a great console however just doesn't have enough games on it that I want to play for the foreseeable year or so. And I'm not waiting for the next GT again.... :D

Oh and PSN. Never thought much of the service when it was free...... :D

Anyway looking forward to keep an eye on its developments from the sideline.
