PlayStation 4 Console Thread

Ok, now they've said I can order a new console package, take the new controller out, replace it with faulty controller, and then it'll be collected and sent back. Seems like a lot of work for them to just replace a controller, but fair enough.

EDIT: And now, after going away to do that, the guy's come back 5 minutes later to say that he can't do that due to the current policy that customer's have to contact Sony, but he can refund me £44.44 for a new controller lol Common sense prevails, eventually. To be fair to Amazon, I've only ever found their customer service to be amazing before, which is why I went with them. Just had to keep on at them a bit more than normal this time.

Do you have to send the old controller back?

Somehow, I've only just noticed that the headphones in the pad thing works for blu ray films. That'll save me hunching over a tablet for late night viewing.

Yep, sound quality takes a hit but if you're moving from a tablet then I doubt it'll be noticable.

I've been getting the random disc ejecting issue someone else reported. Doing a proper shutdown and power cycle fixes it temporarily, but it seems to come back. Am I going to have to get it replaced or does it eventually resolve itself?

Pretty poor show as I've had this console since the end of November. Seems like a fairly common issue as well.

theres a fix you can do at home that won't void your warranty. Contact Sony and they will email you instructions . Basically it involves taking the shiny part of the cover off and tightening a screw

I don't think so . Each user needs their own psplus account if they want psplus features

They can play online, I think. I read a page on the official website about it the other day, but can't find the link....

Edit: Found it! http://faq.en.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5030/~/accessing-playstation®plus-benefits-from-other-user-accounts-and-playstation

Yeah other users can play online that's fine, as long as one ps plus subscriber has made the ps4 their primary, but I just wasn't sure about the online save backups. It looks like it doesn't irritatingly, but worth checking just in case I was missing something somewhere in the settings. Ah well.
