First off, you have to follow @PlayStationUK or @GAMEDigital on Twitter.

Then, from 11am today, you have to visit the PlayStation website and study an image that contains over 300 characters from PlayStation history. "Study the image well and make sure you know your PlayStation characters," Sony says.

Then, at an allocated time each day, both those Twitter accounts will tweet a clue using the hashtag #20YearsOfCharacters. You have to solve the clue, find the character it corresponds to and click it. If you're right, you get a link that takes you to a "secret" GAME website.

In the Netherlands they've been hidden in various cities. You can only claim them if you 'dress up as a PlayStation character' and follow some set of clues.

You basically need to out-geek Ingress players to get one.

I'm not criticising because I'm the same, but only in videogaming could you have such disregard for customers juxtaposed against people excited at winning the opportunity to buy a more expensive version of the product you repeatedly fuck them over with.

I'm not stupid, I removed my lodged credit card on PSN a while ago, and I only add on a minimal balance via cards when it's time to buy something. I wouldn't trust Sony to run the online security on a chocolate covered coffeepot.

It is ridiculous. At the end of the day it does the same thing as any other PS4. The white one is more attractive too.

Well yes, but Sony don't care about that. They're still getting their money for changing the colour of the plastic. We're all suckers for it though, myself included.
