PlayStation 4 Console Thread

Ok fellas, is this PS4 thing worth getting yet?

As you all know I've been seduced by MS, and great fun has been had, but I'm watching Bloodborne continue to loom in the back of my mind and I wonder what the grass is like over this side of the fence.

Is it hitting as hard as my Xbox is at the moment?

What have you got to come?

Etc, etc.

I'd really appreciate some opinions that don't contain an agenda. Surely we're past that now anyway, yeah?

If you want a PS4 specifically for Bloodborne, then no, the PS4 isn't worth getting yet. Bloodborne still hasn't been released, you see.

If you've got money burning a hole in your pocket then sure, buy it, but nobody here can tell you what games you'll like based on the no information you've given us, so we can just tell you to wait for the one game we know you want.

Do you like all types of games? Then yes get it for the likes of Velocity 2X, Second Son, Road Not Taken, Pix The Cat, Spelunkey, Driveclub, Rogue Legacy, Binding of Isaac, Knack, etc...

If you only like big budget games from known major studios, then you're probably best off waiting, as most of those are already on the XB1.

If I choose to ignore indie games you could as easily play on a very limited pc, or multiplatform games (not convinced: some are certainly better on Ps): TLoU, resogun. Possibly driveclub, little big planet 3 (but not played them).

The remainder of Bradigors list isn't worth the £300: we'll have to see what next year brings - but I think I'd wait till March now.

Depends what games you want to play really. However you already have a XBO so unless there is something you absolutely *have* to play right now I'd wait. Its going to pick up a bit next year in terms of exclusives.

I suspect this is you Jon. Microsoft are putting their efforts into AAA games (Quantum Break, Gears, Fable) and Sony are spreading their money into much smaller projects (Wattam, Volume, Rime, Everybodys gone to the Rapture and Wild).

The two consoles are actually quite different in what they offer when you dig a bit deeper.

Shocked that Sony didn't pick up the problems in the DS4 design in testing... maybe its built in obsolescence by design that went a bit wrong LOL.

Never had a trigger break on any pad I've had yet.

My PS4 pad has sticking shoulder buttons. No analogue stick rubber wear yet though or squeaky triggers. Although the triggers feel nowhere near as durable as those on my XBO pad.

It's come without a Spycam Kinect from day one.

Also featuring: usable by humans user interface.

Starring: Pix the Cat, Resogun, Netflix

Coming soon: Everything (literally everything, as it won the console war)

Sonic 3 & K not included. Ages 3 and up.

Just checked my DS4 and there is a slight squeak coming from the right trigger....

Is this a new phenomenon?

Last gen we had the RRoD, YLoD....

Is this then Dual Shock Squeak of Doom? (DSSoD)

At least the consoles are much better this time around....
