PlayStation 4 Console Thread

I've just changed my thumbsticks completely, having had the grip-it covers on for 6 months or so, and the pad just feels so much better without them.

Switching the thumbsticks isn't at all hard, and I'm a cack handed fool who normally breaks everything. Definitely recommend doing that over covers.

Bone sticks feel a fair bit looser to me,  much prefer the PS4 sticks, rubber peeling aside. I bought some 99p thumb grips on amazon and they have been fine.

Its only the stick that changes, the ball, shaft, and thumb top. It retains the analogue pots and stiffness.

Thanks to the endless barrage of game announcements at the Playstation Experience I got a PS4 with GTA V, Driveclub and The Last of Us Remaster today :)

Your next purchase needs to be a headset & maybe some thumb grips to protect the control sticks.

I purchased the following below

Headset £6.97 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/ORB-Wired-Chat-Headset-PS4/dp/B00GH7U79Y/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1418221908&sr=8-3&keywords=orb+ps4

Thumb Grips £1.99 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thumb-Grips-4-Pack-PlayStation-controllers/dp/B00JTJCLI2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1418221908&sr=8-2&keywords=orb+ps4

I still have a Sony branded wireless bluetooth headset I once bought for use on the PS3 but never really used, I assume it's compatible?

You get an in-ear set packed in the console but it's really rubbish. Not sure if PS3 headset will work on PS4?

I found the built in one to be fine and no-one on here that I played Destiny with complained about sound quality from my end or anything and I could hear everone... I'm sure there are better but it's not so shit that I felt I had to upgrade or anything.

I'll try the cheapo and my wireless, I think the latter should work. Not that I care too much, I'm not much of an online gamer anyway, although I'd like to get some of that wacky GTA V 'Muk action.

GTAV & DriveClub threads are pretty active so you can enjoy some great online gaming sessions.

Enjoy your new shiny.

When playing with Len and his mate on Destiny, they struggled to hear me when I used the mono headset that comes with the PS4. Not sure if I have a duff one, or if my wireless connection affected it. I could hear them pretty clearly, though.

You do get to pretend you're Jack Bauer when using it, though.

How the shitting hell does this

71kdGVohgUL._SL1417_.jpg

...cost £50? It's a piece of moulded plastic and a 2x5V/0.5A output charger brick. It costs the square root of fuck all to make.

I know consoles and accessories are razors-and-blades but even so, that's some fucking nerve.

Edit -- and does anyone have anything that's similar but doesn't cost more than a night in the Premiere Inn?
