Is there any way to move Music Unlimited off my dash? I never, ever use it.

The main dash only shows the last used programs - if you use other stuff more often it should show those programs in place of things you don't use at all - like Music Unlimited.

I'd prefer the themes if it was more in the style of the actual PS1 UI, so that the icons looked like the little animated memory card blocks on the card manager bit. I admit this is probably a fringe view.

He's on a 100mb Virgin Media connection; there is no download traffic management on that package.

I was disappointed to see it was just the normal PS4 layout with a few PS1-related items floating around. I was also expecting the fullscreen SCEE logo to appear during boot-up. Denied.

It's chuffing useless on my telly, the white text on the grey background is utterly illegible from the couch. Actually hurts the eyes trying to read it.

It's a bloody shame as the sound, and the little floaty symbols are great. Back to black flow we go.

It does seem kind of half-arsed, the way the sound plays over the top of the normal PS4 startup sound and how it goes back to flow on the other screens. I haven't had a PS4 long enough to feel the need for a change though so I won't be writing a letter of complaint to my local MP or anything.

As an aside -

go to settings, sound and screen and turn off key tone (that is the PS4 log in sound)

Also make sure to have system music on (also in sound and screen area).

My old PS1, cable clip propping the lid open so I could play JPN Tekken 3 and Ridge Racer 3 and US Resident Evil and Parappa the Rapper

Hard to believe it was 20 years ago. Good times.

Well in the UK it wasn't of course, we didn't get it until late 1995.

I really wish Sony would come up with an amazing way of being able to pause your downloads while you're playing an online game or doing something else that requires streaming data from the internet. This isn't an issue, I guess, for people with a fast internet connection, but out here in the sticks on 2 mbps it's a massive pain in the arse, and almost ruined my Destiny session last night (and is likely to do so again tonight).

Yeah, I know you can pause a download in the Downloads area, but the issue is that this only shows the portion of a title you need to get down to make it playable. Happened with Driveclub, and now it's happened again with the 42GB d/l for The Last Of Us - only the first 10GB showed as an actual 'download', and now that's down it shows as complete; the remaining 30-odd gig shows as... nothing. It's just a background download and you can't pause it. You should be able to go into the game's info panel and not just see how much is left to pull down, but also be able to pause it - and you can't; you can only delete it or leave it running.

Unless someone can tell me a magic way to get around this, it's another half-arsed 'solution' from Sony: you can now pause the first quarter of the game, but no more. Bah.

Anyway BF4... am I right in thinking no code this time so I can buy second hand for £16 just fine? Or is it worth stumping up the £45 for the premium version with all the bonus packs?

As long as you have a PS+ subscription, you'll be able to play online on the 10 base maps that come with the game. Premium is worthwhile if you're going to want to play on all the maps (and get access to the extra weapons, vehicles, game modes etc.), it all depends on how much you're going to play it I guess - if you're not interested in the Premium exclusive stuff (dogtags, Battlepacks etc.) you could always cherry pick the DLCs for the ones that most appeal otherwise.

That new theme is amazing, the boot sound brings back so many memories!!

I am having some odd behaviour with my pad charging - my laptop is on the sofa so when the pad is flat i plug it in, while gaming it seems to keep the pad going but as soon as the PS4 is off the pad isn't charging :s

I am sure it used to glow yellow to show charging while plugged into the laptop but it doesn't anymore - any ideas???

This happens to me as well.

The pad doesn't "look" like it's charging when I use any other USB power source other than the PS4. I was hoping and assuming it's just the glowing ligh that doesn't come on when it's not plugged into the PS4?
