Don't come in this thread much and barely used my PS4 much lately but does anyone else constantly utterly fucking abysmal download speeds now? It's worse than the PS3 speeds!

I have a rock solid 100mb Virgin line and has been great over the past 6 months but for about the last week have updating all the BF4 updates and game I've missed and it's just soooo bloody slow all the time. Have sony fucked everything up again.

Also, rest mode is still broke for me. Orange light goes on but disappears by morning

The fact you have been updating lots of things over the last week smacks of you hitting VM's download management, so they will have throttled your speed back most likely, I downloaded FarCry4 in about 30 minutes (26gb) on BT Infinity 2 PS4 connected wired.

Also - Rest Mode has other options now, it defaults to only power the USB's for 3 hours I think, which explains again why the lights off overnight.

What does that mean? It is a Vita, so if you own a Vita game (and it's compatible - a few aren't because of no touchscreen) then you download it to the PSTV and play it.

Yeah, I appreciate it's a Vita in a box, I just wanted to be sure that's how it worked (I've never used a Vita).

He's on a 100mb Virgin Media connection; there is no download traffic management on that package.

PlayStation TV's only use is to play Vita games on the telly. As long as they are compatible (don't use touch screen/pad or cameras). It's really neat you can use a PS4 controller to play some Vita games, but I'm kind of using it to play JRPGs on the couch. I don't think it's going to register in terms of actual sales. It's really a Game Boy Player for Vita, even though Sony is selling this as the 'stream your PS4 to another screen' thing.

So yeah, if an upscaled Persona 4 Golden with 'couch support' is your thing, get it. Otherwise, ignore.

Anyone got a PS-TV yet? Just wondering if it's worth it? I sometimes stream some indy games to my Vita bit I don't find it that good for AAA titles. Would like to be able to use my tv in my room.

Have a read of the latest Edge mag, it paints a less than ideal situation on it. For example there a quit a few vita games that don't work on..

The incompatibility thing for PSTV is weird btw. If you use a PS4 controller it uses L3/R3 and the touch pad to simulate the Vita touch interfaces. Stuff like WipEout 2048 could be compatible because of it (and you could use a Camera for the front one, the only thing truly out of bounds is the backside camera I think). So they're kind of willingly gimping it themselves. Or at the very least, giving that impression.

Yeah Netflix not being on it really isn't that much of an issue. I have an old 360 my friend gave to me in my room which is pretty much my Netflix/Sky Go machine and downstairs I have my PS4 for it. I'm mainly wanting the PSTV for the streaming PS4 games aspect, so I can play a game in bed. Unfortunately reviews on it seem to suggest that only works sporadically.

Being able to play some Vita/PS classics with the DS4 is pretty good though but a shame they've restricted it, that seems rather dumb. Wipeout would have been ace on the big tv.

Couple of questions from a new owner:

1) Surgeon simulator or octodad for the lols? With coop in mind.

2) Are Starwhal, Tower fall, Nidhogg and Sports Friends the best local multiplayer games at the moment? Anything else to watch out for?

Really hope gang beasts comes over soon.

Doing one of those 'just purchased' posts I hate, £300 for ps4 plus driveclub plus the last of us remastered download seems alright, even though driveclub looks like one of the most heinously dull things I've ever seen, possibly the most dullest creation in the history of mankind, and will need to be sold immediately. Clicked confirm purchase just as I scrolled down through a 'xbox one exclusives' list to see Playdead's new game, for the very first time, which will be ported to another system, at least the pc eventually right? right??

Limbo was one of about 20 games I've played in the last 8 years. I had a 360 before because it was cheaper, but the indie games were the best thing about it. Never had a ps3, I do want to play The Last of Us.

Actually came into this thread a few pages ago and left wanting a new dog, went into some more threads and the new silent hill sold me it a bit more. 'what format will the new silent hill be released on' google search. There weren't enough exclusives, The Evil Within, Trials Fusion, Alien Isolation could have not been easily available for a console I already own.

what have I done

Driveclub (online issues aside which are now minor) and TLOU are both outstanding games, my two favourites of the year actually. You'll be fine ????

Driveclub outstanding? Its incredibly average.

It has problems, but it isn't average. It's a very solid, enjoyable driving game, that harks back to an era where courses were designed for racing/time trialling, not appropriated from fully 3D modeled cities which only really exist to allow a free-roam mode. I've enjoyed it more and more and it's certainly on my top 10 for the year, if not my top 5, even taking the dreadful technical issues into account.
