A lad tbb and I went to school with suffered a heavy defeat on Super Tennis and so heaved his mattress down the stairs. I would have given up well before I got the quilt and sheets off but he saw it through to the end.

What did this achieve? Didn't he have to bring it back upstairs again?

I'm loving these tales of nerd rage. Keep em coming.

I don't recall who it was, or in which thread, but somebody posted once about a game so angering them they they took the disc out, put it in the box, put it on the shelf and scowled "Think about what you've done!"

I've not done the anecdote justice at all there, but I remember laughing very heartily at it. Anybody remember the post?

See, this is what the all-digital future won't have!

I believe that is probably me. I think the game in question was Motorstorm after I'd had a couple of perfect laps, hit a pebble on the final corner and watched all the other cars fly past me.

I haven't gone back to it since, mainly because I still don't think it really is sorry about its behaviour.

Pondering getting a PS4, but not really paid attention to the games released for it over the year.

Sorry to be a pain, but anyone got a (or care to) list recommended titles?

I feel its still a little early to get one, but xmas does legitimize silly purchases, and I know Bloodborne is coming in next year, which will force my hand....

(Also, how does it withstand being dropped on the floor? - opinions greatly appreciated).

Ooh. Tempted by that £8 Walking Dead season 2 price on PS4. But having played season 1 on 360, would I be missing out on my decisions/save states from S1 by switching platforms, or is it a blank slate anyway?

Some nice references to s1 events, but nothing huge.

Meanwhile I want Oddworld, so thanks to whoever posted the discount list!

Resogun is the only exclusive title I can truly recommend.

Just got a ps4 deal for black Friday. Is it possible to best amazon's £40 12 month ps+? And if I buy it digitally am I able to create an account online and purchase bits before the console arrives? I want a couple of those above offers!

You can get 5% off cdkeys.com purchases with a code you get for liking them on Facebook, and then purchase £35 of PSN credit plus an additional £5 for about £35. The codes are emailed to you in a few minutes. Then you use this to but a year subscription via PSN. Alternatively, you can sometimes get cheap subscription codes via eBay.

You can purchase things before you get the PS4. Definitely buy the PS+ games through the website before they expire, if you are going to be waiting a little while for the console.

I was in the same boat as you until last weekend. You'll get a 14-day trial of PS+, which will get you Binding of Isaac and Steamworld Dig, both well worth a look. Some of the earlier games are dropping in price preowned now - I picked up Watch Dogs and Black Flag on the cheap that way. I reckon GTAV is essential, even if you played it last gen - with the video recording and first person bolted on it's pretty much a bottomless pit of entertainment value. I got a download of Last of Us in my bundle which, like GTA, I've already played - but I'm happily playing it again with the smooth frame rate, camera mode and frankly mind-boggling visuals for an old-timer like me.

I'm really enjoying Resogun, and the season pass is 60% off on PS+ right now - that adds an Every Extend styled game mode that I'm really enjoying. Spelunky is there, of course, and remains the best game ever. Geometry Wars just came out - early days for me, but I fully expect to be enjoying it for a long time.

Obviously it depends what you like - I'm not usually big on RPGs, but I'm giving Dragon Age serious consideration. The sooner you get in, the more you'll get out of PS+, which I think is a great service (especially as I kept my PS3). The PS+ sale has a lot of good deals right now and I expect there'll be more to come around Christmas. I think I waited about the right length to dive in - there's enough variety there now to make it more than an occasional-use trophy console, which was what I got with my launch 360.

They had a quick chat about Rugby 2015 at the end of the Videogamer UK podcast this week. Apparently the publisher had been insisting it wouldn't be out until Jan 2015, but then it suddenly appeared on the PSN store a couple of days later. And a listener who'd bought it was complaining that the game just freezes when you reach the end of a match... so probably best avoided.

I sprung for Trials in today's sale. If I was even slightly more cynical in nature I might think that yesterday's 'free' error was just a ploy to get me to download the demo, followed swiftly by the price drop to take advantage of my cold-addled brains. But Ubisoft can't possibly know that I have a cold because I haven't bought a Playstation Camera yet.

Do I go for Alien Isolation, though, that's the question. Gameplay videos make it look a bit dull after a while, but the lure of those corridors is strong. But I'm also thinking the retail version might be going for £20 around Christmastime.

Also, heads up on this disappointing turn of events for a recent buyer: £299 inc. LBP and TLoU.

:D This has just made me laugh like a drain again - excellent stuff. It was so beautifully phrased, with such seething anger and disappointment. It's the best nerd rage!

I was considering Alien Isolation too but I'm convinced that pretty much every retail PS4 game released so far will be wildly cheap at retail soon enough. I'll wait til the new year.

I did buy Monopoly Family Fun Pack from PSN yesterday, though. I've not had a chance to play it beyond a quick test yet but it certainly loves a blurry depth of field effect. Looks nice but you can't choose the iron. I used to use the iron.

I noticed Escape Goat 2 is also on there? I'll leave that a wee because there's too many other games to play at the moment but it's probably excellent, right?

Ok pulled the trigger on that Amazon £299 with LBP and TLoU deal plus Shadow of Mordor for £25.

I will pick up Alien Isolation at some point, Dragon Age for my wife, and what else do I need before Bloodborne gets released?

A lot of my friends are enjoying it, but if I'm the most casual of casual FPS players with minimal interest in multiplayer, is it worth buying Destiny?
