PlayStation 4 Console Thread

Seems they remove games before they go on sale, so I guess people caught Trials just as that was happening. Games below have also been removed so guess there'll be getting deals tomorrow.

Alien Isolation

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Ultimate Edition

Shadow Warrior

SteamWorld Dig

Styx: Master of Shadows

Surgeon Simulator: A&E Anniversary Edition

Vita

Gravity Rush

BLAZBLUE Continuum Shift Extend

Hopefully the Gravity Rush DLC will finally be on sale.

Lords of the Fallen is currently £29.99 with sale dates of 3rd-5th December, that will be the start of the Christmas sale I assume.

I've been meaning to get Alien Isolation actually, hopefully it's a worthwhile discount.

Why they still insist on charging £50 for download versions really confuses me, if they were cheaper, I'd have bought more and I wouldn't be able to trade them in, surely better for them all round?

Bizarre, isn't it?

You'd think they'd be charging less, due to lack of a need to manufacture and physically distribute and also take the bricks-and-mortar retailers out of the equation, with their fat mark-ups.

Instead, they seem to be charging you more than what the physical copy costs, for the 'convenience'.

If they wanted to kill trade-in and retailers (as suggested by MS's initial Bone plans), it'd take care of itself if they'd favourably priced their digital offerings.

Exactly what I think, I'm not expecting a new release to be £20 or something ludicrous but if it was £40 online and £45 in a shop or whatever, I'd probably buy the online one.

Instead it's £50 online and £40 in a shop. Just weird.

I downloaded Strider on PS+ when it was free and have played if for a few hours, certainly past the point where the demo finished - so it's fully installed as far as I can tell - it's not listed as downloading in the Notifications on the console any longer..

However it's still in my SEN/PSN download queue listed as 'Downloading'.. And while I can add things to the queue on the site they just sit there.. They aren't then picked up on the console to download as (I assume) they can't until Strider has 'finished.'

Which it has.. but it doesn't see that..

I've clicked cancel on Strider's download in the queue, but it doesn't get rid of it.. Can cancel things that were added after it fine..

So essentially I now can't download anything via the SEN website.. Thankfully, downloading items still works via the console itself..

Have contacted support - three times now over the last few weeks but had no reply at all from them.. <_<

Anyone had similar?

I wasted my time writing a description of the problem I was having with my friend's PS4 to see if Sony support could help. Five days later, and they've replied with a link to another support service that I can't use because I don't have a serial number, which I guess shows that they didn't even read my email. Does anyone have a contact for Sony's complaints department?

I think the issue is that shops get pissy and start throwing their weight around if publishers compete with them digitally.

But, yes, it's a ridiculous situation.

Somebody on Twitter was saying that somebody from Sony said that the high digital prices were matching those in German retail stores, and they didn't have the freedom to price cheaper here. Dunno of the truth to that.

My understanding is that publishers determine the pricing on PSN, not Sony, and that in order for publishers to get titles prominently merchandised (or stocked at all) at brick-and-mortar retailers they need to agree to certain things, like maintain the digital price at SRP for a set period so as not to compete (since digital sales are effectively Sony and the publisher selling the title).

Are you a giant?! I've dropped mine several times 'cos I'm a clumsy fucker but luckily my pad has survived.

My old wired 360 pad which I use for PC gaming has also been through about five years of abuse and it's still going strong!

No! I was really surprised TBH! Dropped my PS3 pad numerous times over its life and not problems. Think I was just unlucky with how it fell and the fact it fell onto laminate flooring.... bah....

My PS3 pad broke when I threw it on my wooden floor, it was one of those moments where I stopped mid game rage and questioned throwing it but I fukcing hate the PS3 pad so down it went!!

It still works, couple of broken clips was all the damage, well that and the odd rattle...

They must have changed PS3 controllers from the launch lot then. I did a rage-throw of one from a launch machine onto carpet and it shattered into a thousand pieces like it was made of glass. It was only a mild paddy too. I've had worse controller banging sessions with the PS4 and there hasn't been a sniff of damage done.

Playing COD the other day i got a message, no idea what he said as it was all in French but he didn't sound happy - as much as a shout at the telly and swear at everything i have never been compelled to record a message to an opposing player - i guess PSN is getting more like Live after all!!

Wrecked a PSP by bending it after a 2-hour or so God of War (PSP) on the hardest difficulty rage fest. Checkpoint -> cutscene you can not skip -> hard as hell battle.

edit: also, broke my Street Fighter 4 disc in half after getting utterly wrecked by CPU Sagat (on the default difficulty level). I just purchased the game. I am too old for footsies and whatnot.
