PlayStation 4 Console Thread

That translated to £30 on launch from online retailers, less soon after, and I'm told you can get it for about £15 now. It's a bargain and a great game. Even if you have the original the Left Behind DLC means it's worth that. There are plenty of things to moan about in this world, but the existence of The Last of Us Remastered is not one of them.

Where can I get TLOU for £15?? My PS4 is coming tomorrow and seems a good place to start :)

Since launch I've completed the following single player campaigns:

  • Battlefield 4
  • Call Of Duty: Ghosts
  • Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare
  • Contrast
  • Destiny
  • Entwined
  • Infamous: First Light
  • Infamous: Second Son
  • Killzone Shadow Fall
  • Knack
  • The Unfinished Swan
  • Tiny Brains
  • Valiant Hearts
  • Watch Dogs
  • Wolfenstein

In addition to that, I'm half way through Shadows Of Mordor, almost done on Skylanders (with the kid), logged countless hours in Minecraft, played a heap of Trials and Pure Pool, spent ages messing in Playroom, played loads of Lego Marvel/Movie and logged a fair chunk of time in multiplayer across CoD, BF4, Destiny and Plants vs Zombie. And more!

God help me when the PS4 finally gets some games.

I think buying a PS4 was a pretty much a no brainer. In the long run it's going to be amazing. They've always eventually delivered some awesome stuff. I've never missed a gen. BUT, I think the "negativity" comes from over promising and not being able to deliver on that in the first year. They did that last gen and eventually came through with the goods for the most part. It's the Sony I know. Awesome PR, great promises at launch. Then deliver them....eventually.

Conversely MS have had themselves torn a new arsehole with some of the crap they spouted at THAT E3. Ever since they've "listened to the customer" and have rolled back some of the policies that really put people off and have released some real gems. They've generally been on the up (not hard with the rock bottom they managed to get themselves to)

This first year business for PS4 isn't that they've had a crappy year. It's just that the pre-launch promises haven't really been met still.

Anyway, next year's already looking like being a great year for gaming really. So many good titles looking at that list I posted up the page.

January: Saints Row IV: Re-elected, Dying Light

February: There Came An Echo, Evolve, The Order, The Witcher 3

March: Battlefield Hardline, Project Cars, Bloodborne

And then with later or unspecified release dates - Arkham Knight, Amplitude, Broforce, Dead Island 2, Everybody's Gone To The Rapture, Hellraid, Homefront, Let It Die, Mad Max, Metal Gear Solid V, Persona 5, Soma, Space hulk: Deathwing, SW: Battlefront, The Division, Until Dawn, Warhammer 40K.

:hmm:

And you can stop crossing your eyes at me like that, too.

http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PS4-Support/PSN-Maintenance-scheduled-for-Monday-17th-November/td-p/22645779

There is PSN Maintenance scheduled for Monday 17th November from 17:00 to 23:00 GMT
For the duration of the maintenance you will be unable to login to Account Management and the PS Store. PS Home will also be unavailable.
Online gameplay as well as 3rd party services and apps will be available to users who have recently signed into their SEN account and have their authentication details cached.
Users who do not have their details cached, will not be able to sign-in to their account or begin an online gaming session.
There may be some additional downtime after the maintenance period for testing purposes.
What does the bold bit actually mean? Signed into the PS4, I logged in yesterday but my password is saved on the console so will I be ok?
Or should I sign out & back in?

US PSN, I believe. Although not sure if it's still on sale.

It was never on sale on US PSN. I'm pretty sure that price relates to some US retailer who was selling download codes for $25 or something if you used a discount code and had it shipped to your house in the US.

It definitely doesn't translate as "TLoU is £15!" If you shop around you'd probably struggle to find it for much less than £30, if even that.

It's very old fashioned in its design, very much a spiritual successor to Crash Bandicoot. I dug that about it. Both the story and the really quite challenging combat against a strong variety of enemies really lifted it for me.

If I can't kill almost every enemy in the game by jumping on its head then it's not old fashioned enough.

Shame the new version of Singstar is a rather broken mess, then.

From the Eurogamer review

"There's a small but noticeable amount of lag between the player's singing and the sound coming out of the TV, which creates a weird reverb effect within the room. Why this problem has popped up now, after ten years of lag-free SingStar games, is a mystery. "Network conditions" isn't a good excuse, and doesn't make much sense considering I detected the same problem using both smartphone and wired mics."

They messed up the singing part... of Singstar. Why is everything so broken this year? Sony have definitely run away with the quantity of broken though. Firmware 2.0, Driveclub, Singstar and Knack.

:) I was just joking. I haven't played it. Hopefully when it's on PS+ I'll give it a whirl.

Knack will NEVER be on PS+ just to piss off all those who demand Knack on PS+

If you didn't buy Knack, you do not deserve Knack.

Normally I'm annoyed by PS+ because it is always an indie game that I've already purchased on release. However if Knack was on there it'd probably be the first time I've not bothered redeeming the free game. They'll do it for Christmas just to secure their grinch like status.

Any news on whether Sony will be doing some crazy digital black Friday sales? To be fair they always seem to have some good offers on throughout the year but I want that must buy crazy impulse purchase.

STUFF

Journey's gonna look delicious at 60. I truly envy the first timers on that one.

And Hohokum's a fuckin' GREAT game that everyone should play.
