PlayStation 4 Console Thread

I thought RCR was a bit crap to be honest. It was a nice novelty to begin with but then Hotline Miami came along and did it all much, much better.

Yeah, wouldn't pay for this. The one thing it should have had going for it was its wealth of 80s pop-culture references, but instead it was just a constant stream of "hey, remember this thing? I remember it too!"

I don't think there was a single actual joke.

I've installed a 2Tb drive in my PS4 (one of those Samsung ones recommended by Eurogamer - the price has gone back up to £73 on Amazon, but Argos still have them for £64.99)). The actual process of getting the drive out of the housing and then replacing the existing drive and updating the software took maybe 20 minutes in total and went pretty smoothly. Re-downloading all the DLC for Battlefield 4 is taking MUCH longer... I was quite pleased to note that BF4 has remembered all my controller settings though (presumably they're stored on Battlelog along with your player stats etc.).

I've still got all the rest of the games to re-install (or download in the case of PS+ stuff) and then the saved games to upload from my USB backup, but at least I should have enough disk space to last me a good while now.

Can you not do a 1:1 copy with latest firmware?

I can not be arsed to do any redownloading etc, will update as soon as 1:1 copy is possible ala ps3..

Nope. Saved games are the biggest pain in the arse as you have upload / download them on a per game basis.

I bet it is Samurai Warriors 4. It is hard to keep track of them all  There is this one, Warriors 3 Orochi and Dynasty Warriors 8 Extreme Legends. Do they not all belong to the same franchise?

Thanks, better do some research and see what one's best out of those!

Is there any way to see games you've purchased on the PS Store?

I want to download the rest of my stuff, but it'd be handy to have a list of the games I've bought in one place rather than finding them all individually.

There's your download list. I don't know how to get it on the console but it's easy enough to find on the website. You can queue all your downloads from there too and they'll download automatically in rest mo- never mind.

Thanks - found that now. I went through the list manually clicking all the ones marked as "Purchased", but there was some stuff I'd missed (mostly DLC stuff), and things like Don't Starve which wanted me to pay for them via the PS4 but showed as free on the website(!).

Yeah it is, you can re-download quite easily from there as I did exactly the same thing a few weeks ago.

What annoyed me the most though, is loads of games' update files only start downloading once you start the game. You also can't download saves for games that you haven't already put into the drive. Do both of the above at the same time, or you've got to keep putting the pissing discs in like I did. Eejit.

Urgh, I'm all close to getting into new gen, and was planning to make the switch to PS4. Mainly because I've had a 360 for so long, but actually most of the games I play aren't the exclusives like Halo. And, perhaps more pressingly, I want to play The Last of Us.

And now the last few pages of this thread have made me feel all OH NO about it :(

I decided to play Battlefield tonight after installing it on the new hard drive but there was an odd, annoying stutter to the audio. So I decided to delete and re-install the main game from the disk, not realising that this would also delete the 20-odd gigabytes of DLC that I'd downloaded earlier.

Motherf**ker!

The console is happy for videos and screenshots to pile up on the machine, as well as saved games for which I no longer have the game installed, so I thought it might save the DLC files for handy quick re-installation should I wish. Nope. Guess not.

I've had the machine since release & the only issue I've had is the rubber coming off the controller sticks which Sony replaced very quickly.

Apart from that it's been a great console.
