Think they must've borrowed Destiny's RNG. Mine updated without any problems but I'm not sure "database rebuilds" should have any place in console gaming.

Well no. May as well get a PC TBH.. LOL. Oddly enough never had any issues with my PC and Steam. Maybe I've just been lucky.... Or PC's have just become more stable over the years.

YouTube didn't work for me yesterday. Thought that OK fine it's because everyone and their dogs are logging in, downloading YouTube and trying to log on en masse.

Still the exact same problem today. Doesn't help that I have 2-factor on my account, making it a pain to log in.

Forget it, it's easier to either use the PS3's YouTube or even better just cast it from my phone or laptop. And if I want to share videos, it's easier just sharing it to Facebook, downloading the HD video from there and uploading that to YouTube.

Awesome update. Hard reset your router? Do you mean unplugged it for a while? Or reset to manufacturer settings and setup up from scratch?

Just unplugged it for a minute or so. May just be coincidence, but it seems to have worked for me.

HD video on Facebook looks horrendous. Might be "easier" but it doesn't stop it looking like dog shit.

Yeah, if upload to youtube isn't working for you, it would be better to save the file to a usb stick and then upload it from your computer than going through facebook.

I am having the boot up from rest mode issue myself today, after everything was fine yesterday. Have turned off the USB power in rest mode option for now to see if that fixes things, but it also means I have a controller that isn't charging...YAY.

I have often been relaxed about how PSN is and accept it is first world problems and all that, but fuck me... Sony are really starting to test even my patience.

Ok.

Since the update, if my PS4 is left on 'rest mode', it will eventually just shut down completely. Cracking.

I've got a feeling that it's failing to handle some sort of communication from PSN, seg-faulting and turning off.

I've just noticed that mine has done this too. Basically all I have done with it is to update the firmware and plug the controller and vita in to charge. The router was fully rebooted today too since we were away for a few days and switched it off before we left.

I seem to have sorted the turning off thing. Looking at the power options, it had reset the 'connect to the internet in stand-by' setting to off, and had set USB charging to 3 hours. So basically what it was doing, was charging on USB for 3 hours, turning that off, then as it wasn't connecting to the internet, it turned off instead of staying on stand-by.

So yeah, the update fucks with your settings.

Link my YT account to my PSN, go to upload it...

BANG! Can't upload to YT at this time.

FUCK SAKE.

So I'll upload it to FB, save it, upload it to YT and... it's going to take another 33 minutes

Hmmm, my settings are like that too but it's not done anything weird with rest mode for me. I'll check in the morning to see if it's turned off or still showing the little standby bar of light.
