Might be an issue like mine has, when I put it in to standby mode and turn the TV off straight away I have to do a hard reboot to turn in back on. I found that I have to wait until the PS4 sorts itself out and the white light comes on before I turn the TV off, then it turns back on normally from standby.

I'm hoping it's that, or just something to do with PSN being crap at the moment and trying to upload a save and being unable to or something. Still a bit shit.

Youtube app is up in the store apparently.

The iOS app update is nice, but it's still shit that it goes off to the browser for the store. Personal preference though. I'd much rather have it all in app.

But then they'd have to write a new terrible version of the Store front-end, to match all the other terrible front-ends.

If they do it all in app they would have to give apple a big chunk of all the sales (I think I read 30%)

ah yes, I'd forgotten about that stupid thing. Fair do's. At least the mobile version of the site is fairly responsive.

Edit: Hmmm, I wonder how MS are getting round it with their SmartGlass app. That's all in app and I can't see MS being happy about giving 30% of any digital sales to Apple of all people!

This seems to have worked... or it was just a coincidence. Either way it looks like I'm in standby okay!

Updated and everything seems fine. Friend list certainly loads in quicker, and I like the 15 item limit to go along with the improved search options. PSN features were dead after the update, but restarting the PS4 brought everything back. I do wish they'd copy MS's system of offering betas for these OS updates. They could weed these minor annoyances out in time for the full roll out.

Not a lot of difference all told, but I am keen to read impressions from anyone who has tried Share Play.

I just got an email from Sony thanking me for my purchase of Destiny at 12.03pm today for the price of £0.00. Only I bought the game on PSN when it came out.

Anyone else getting weird emails from them?

Edit: I've yet to turn on my PS4 to get the update.

Yeah, bit cheeky that. I assume they drop back over time, but still, I didn't think they really needed to do that, felt a bit cheap.

I clicked on a few games and the unlimited/shareplay shit went into the library. Out of sight, out of mind!

Please can you fix it for me to be able to set my PS4 to switch on once a day and do all the uploads and downloads it needs to do quietly before switching itself back off. My PS3 does it, and it is a great feature which allows me to have stuff downloaded by the time I get home without the need for leaving the machine draining considerable wattage on standby all the time.

I don't think so, that's only for content downloadable or usable within the app. A PSN store app would be no different to the Amazon app, or any other retailer app.

Updated, home screen now grey. Please go away Music and Video Unlimited tiles. Making USB playlist for Driveclub. :D

Not many improvements to anything else as far as I can tell. Navigating the UI is still convoluted as shit.

I find it a fairly straight forward OS to use. Row of games/apps to the left or right, click on the one you want to launch, pull up for more info, pull down for system stuff. It's not without faults, but I wouldn't have thought of it as being at all convoluted in its design.

You tried turning off HDMI Device Link/CEC, bwhana?

Any stand out bundle deals for the PS4?

Ive found a bundle with Last of us and GTA 5 for £349.99.... can it be bettered?

Sainsburys had a PS4 with FIFA 15, Watchdogs and Minecraft for 350 in store the other day. Depends what games you want.

Is it just me who very rarely gets the store to actually load? It is almost always just a blank screen (with the theme in the background) and the option to cancel at the bottom of the screen.

Surely Sony should have sorted this with the new update, but no, it still does it. You'd think they would want this working properly if they want anyone to actually buy stuff from there.
