PlayStation 4 Console Thread

Killzone's always been a bit divisive. When Shadow Fall actually spends time being a Killzone game rather than a series of eye-candy set pieces it's good... if you like Killzone. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who disliked KZ 2 or 3.

Talking of touchpad use, are there any games that use the touchpad lots?

Even Destiny doesn't use it, and that game uses a joystick to move a pointer around the menus. It's pretty dense.

Unfinished swan sounds interesting. I'd like to see the gameplay in action before i'd commit though.

I loved it, it has that fairy tale quality that a few smaller games have (Brothers, Limbo, et. al.), and a very clever mechanic at its core. My only problem with it was that it induced pretty horrific nausea/motion sickness in me. I did finish it but could only play for about 20 minutes at a time. I'm hoping that won't happen on the Vita as I'd like to play through it again.

Unfinished swan in PS3 made me sicker than any other game. I couldn't play it for more than 3 minutes without wanting to pass out or be sick everywhere.

Which is a shame as I really wanted to play it. Might give it another go on PS4.

Edit: Snap DK.

Shadow Warrior makes good use of it. You flick the pad and then pull the triggers to activate your special moves. It feels far more intuitive than double flipping the directional stick, more reliable too.

No love for the Race The Sun? Has a lovely solid feel and is brutally unforgiving but very more'ish. The levels seems to change every day which is a nice touch.

Excellent game. The daily leaderboards are perfect for pulling you back in time and time again.

I've been rounding off my days with half an hour of this. It's such a great mood game, so smooth to play but you really have to be on the ball to twitch your way through some of the obstacles strewn in your path. Whilst the best I've managed is a good run through zone four, I don't feel as though it's punishingly difficult. The jump and re-spawn collectables take the edge off the intensity of it, and you're allowed to lightly clip most obstacles. Yeah, great game though, I hope more people take a look at it.

Is it £20.99 for download? Does anyone know if the disc version will install the songs so you don't need the disc after?

Free, same as the PS3 app and like the PS3 app it's the same software as what's on the disc, just with no songs.

Zone 4 is just crazy, that represents the best I've done so far too.

I was tempted to get race for the sun just beacuse it reminded me of Virus on the Amiga, even though it isn't really similar by all accounts.

You mean Zarch? Yeah, it's nothing like that, doesn't even look like it. Visually it reminds me of Driller more than anything, although it plays nothing like it of course.

I have failed instantly each time I got to zone 4.

My 7 year old though... very nearly got through and is also sitting 109th in the daily leaderboard, with a score better than I have managed at any point in this game. The little shit!
